I didn't before, but after trying one particular game called The Survivors from the Microsoft Store, I'm already sick of them to the point it's going to kill any game for me that I find one in now. I downloaded the game because it looked kinda fun, and the meat of the game was okay. You find things on the island to help you progress, the game intentionally makes your objectives obscure so you have to buy hints most of the time, no doubt to lure you into sending them money for more currency with which to buy more hints, but I didn't get a chance to see if this was going to be a problem or not, because although the ads were saying "dozens of minigames", there was really only one, with dozens of variations.
Yep, it's that jewel matching minigame. If it was just something that happened every now and then, it would be tolerable, but you have to play that damn mini-game for nearly EVERY objective. Sometimes once every 10 seconds it would say "Okay now to complete this objective, you have to play the jewel matching minigame YAAAAAY! Then after that, you have to play the jewel matching minigame YAAAAAY!" Which I'm assuming was the idea of one of those out-of-touch executives who insisted that the game wouldn't sell without an ample helping of jewel matching, but holy fuck, it was just too much!
Want to open a door? Jewel matching. Want to fill a water tank? Jewel matching. Want to search through a pile of rubble? Jewel matching. Want to repair a shower stall? Jewel matching. I'm not exaggerating AT ALL. -.-
