If it is a desktop, and not a laptop, make sure the RAM and graphics card (if there is one) are securely inserted into the motherboard.  Sometimes they can come loose and result in a similar issue.  You would just have to gently press them inward while the power is off and then try again.  It may also be possible for laptop RAM to come loose, but I am not familiar with how different models use it.

Thank you kindly. I'll try that in the morning.

The fan comes on but now it's powering up ( internal light come on) but nothing is happening  on my screen. My  headphones  (plugs in via usb) lights up too but my heard drive and usb wireless does not.
Oh and as I was typing this it shut down again. The power light is blinking bit the internal lights powered off.

Sorry I wasn't around when you replied with this. Glad to hear you're back up and running though.

In addition to all other suggestions - it should say on the blue screen what's wrong with it.
Hope it's something easily fixable

Do you have a laptop or a desktop?
I would start by checking for a burning smell behind the computer, it can easily be your PSU is burning up or any other part of the computer has.
Either way send me a message and I will try to help you. I'm suspecting either your PSU or your BIOS battery.. maybe even your CPU just needing new cooling paste applied.
All things that will be under 100 bucks to fix, depending on whether you can do it yourself or if a local computer store is willing to help you out for a normal price.

It sucks to say but it sounds like you overheated your processor and damaged it >.<
If you're good with a screwdriver you can order a replacement part and carefully switch it out
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
I don't think your processor is damaged,
it does seem like it is having overheating issues, which I'm pretty sure is due to cooling paste having dried up, you should replace this once a year but most people don't have a clue.
you know which processor you have?

Does the computer give you the boot sound? It should be a little beep when you turn it on.
And if so, does it do this once, twice?
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
actually... can you open up your desktop case and take pictures, maybe a video of your attempted startup?
Of inside the computer? And pm it?
joykill
6 years, 11 months ago
It makes no noise at all. And I know it beeps when something is wrong cause it's done it before. I can take a pic but I'm thinking it's just dead.
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
No the beep is from your BIOS starting up,
and then a second beep confirming your computer is starting up.
I think you can simply go to dropbox or imgur and just upload without apps, just via their website.
Most computers give specific beeps to tell you whats up or have lights being red or not default color in area's where the issue is.

mmm Okey what I want you to do is unplug your computer fully,
Make sure it's in no way connected to power, press the power button for at least a minute.
Now look for this lil shit: http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/attachment.php?...

Take it out and wait for 5-10 minutes. Just go fix yourself a tea, then pop it back in and plug your computer back in.
And try to start your computer.

https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

Download this lil thing and see how the CPU temp is,
All in all this could have been simply your power cable being derpy connected, because you're now telling me your computer is on. Next time you get the blue screen try to snap a picture of it.

It powered off on me about 12 minutes into it working. I can only assume it's over heating
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
mhm, I am pretty sure it is.
I am pretty sure it's cooling paste, hopefully, how old is your desktop?
joykill

I got this computer years ago but I have been buying new stuff as it goes bad. I think I got the processor about 5 years ago. The power suppy and motherboard are 3 years ago
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
Reconnect all your internal power cables,
see what it does.

I don't know if you ever applied cooling paste, but if you have some laying around or a computer store near that sells it it's worth a try,
because it's 5 bucks.
Now I looked up a video with some info on how to for you, with a charming lady showing it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SST61g3hnIs

Now the tissue things she uses.. tissues or Qtips are fine too.

joykill

so it's been a half hour and my computer hasn't shut off. i down loaded another program and it says my GPU core temp 69.C
sweltering
6 years, 11 months ago
That's pretty normal, it's the CPU that I'm suspecting. If it stays under 70 it should be good.
Thing is tho, you blue screened, and usually computers don't blue screen when over heating.
Thats my only issue with the current fix owo;

If you have some money to spare you should possible let it be checked,
seeing as your computer is older, like mine [Hooray 7 years] PSU might be getting a bit iffy [A iffy PSU can pretty much set your computer on fire $$$$]
and your HDD might be running out of steam, all things you might want to save up for slowly but certainly because they might go sooner or later ;3

I'm facing exactly the same issues, where my mother board can't support more ram then it has but I am def running low on ram while working. And replacing the MO means replacing all ram and the CPU because they won't be compatible with newer MO's. In the end, just a new computer basically -sobs-

Do you have any other mediums to work with? Tablet drawing, DSI drawing?

Do you have a scanner with wifi? You could sketch with pencil and lead and scan and upload through your phone :<
joykill
6 years, 12 months ago
I do not have a scaner. Best I can do is take a picture of a sketch on my phone
Kolossal
6 years, 11 months ago
You could, just mess with the brightness and contrast settings and im pretty sure theres a mobile platform for getting the perspective right with some tweening :3

I wish you good luck though in finding a solution

Shoot. Just make sure to back up everything you can. I lost my laptop around Black Friday recently
ThaPig

It could be the power supply. When they get bad you start getting random errors here and there because different components don't get enough power. My first advice is to disconnect the hard drive because all the rebooting and half-booting can damage it and you could lose your data. Try to start the computer with the bare minimum (unplug any USB peripherals, hard drives and so on) and see how it does. If it starts like that it could mean the power supply is the problem, because it can work as long as it doesn't have to power a lot of things. Do you know what kind of mother board you have (like ATX or some other kind)?

Have you tried booting from a live CD?
joykill
6 years, 11 months ago
Holy shit I was on the phone with a friend who had me do pretty much what your suggesting. Great minds think alike

Nah... I just worked fixing computers for a while. I'm pretty obsolete now, technology has left me behind.

I drive around a lot and people throw away old computers all the time, so I pick them up and salvage the good parts. Unfortunately I don't have any power supplies at the moment.

Hey, Joykill; I have a spare desktop PC if you'd like it. Old Compaq Presario from 2006-2008ish. Still works fine, I just never use it.

You're welcome to it... Only thing that needs to be covered is shipping. Also no HDMI ports, so I hope that's not an issue either.

Thank you for the offer. My monitor Is a HDMI  monitor so it wild help. But thank you for the Offer. You rock
AlexanderValentine

Not a problem. You're welcome to it, so let me know.

As for the HDMI part, I had another old desktop that I had to upgrade. Spent $10 and got an HDMI based card.

My personal guess is it is just overheating and shutting it self down to protect it self. I would suggest taking it outside and hitting it with a can of air and see what happens.

As a sdie note, 69 on a idle GPU is a bit high.
joykill
6 years, 11 months ago
I did that and my power supply  was really dusty.
Zadrin
6 years, 11 months ago
Then I shall wish you good luck!

I had a weird computer problem one day. It was the result of plugging a surge protector into another surge protector. (long story....) but the end result was random bluescreens and shut downs. Perhaps all it takes is another outlet if the de-dusting does not solve your problem?
Robododo

Shit...hopefully everything works out tomorrow. I'm amazed that at least one of your fans is offering their spare PC, I'd be willing to put some cash up front for future commissions if it goes towards covering your food. *gives hug* Best of luck, your fans support you!
