Me as animator

Hello guys!

As you know, I'm working in DAZ Studio app. This is a shotty software that don't have support for such great things like world physics, bullet physics, clothes physics (well, it has, but dynamic clothes are expensive, and not compatible with figures I'm using), fluids, forces, fire, smoke, particles, hairs or fur. Yesterday I thought that I can use footages of fire or smoke or fluids for post - work, but there are not so much of them. I tried to simulate fire in 3Ds MAX and Blender. Looks like I really have my hands from butt.

Those DAZ Studio "limitations" makes me think that this program was made only for nice pictures and animations of f*ck! It ruined my mood and motivation for making more stuff. I'm thinking to quit 3D and format whole HDD with 3D content...

Any thoughts?

I'm all for you choice to do so, but I will ask something first.
Do you enjoy doing it?
If you do, why are you giving up over one small little setback?
What were you trying to simulate? With your toon like models, you can cheat things like fire and fog, without using render heavy effects.

I've worked with game animations for a few years, and know a few animation tricks the look good, but aren't going to kill you processor speed. If you ever want help with something, feel free to ask for my advice. Would love to help if I can! ^w^

Well, it's your choice and all, of course. I enjoy your work quite a bit, myself, but I understand the frustration x.x
But wiping it all off of your hard drive seems excessive IMHO. I mean, you might regain interest and/or find better software and stuff, for one.

Please, don't do it.  I know it's your choice, but you have lots of fans!  including me!

You could try migrating to a better software, like Autodesk Maya.  I've used it for years, and as my teacher told me, it's used on most professional movies and games..

I know there will be a lot of incompatibility, but you could try..  It would be terrible if you stop doing this amazing comics and YCHs..

I can't convert my models to maya's format. Plus I know NOTHING about working in it

You should think better, it's okay that DAZ is not great software, but think about your characters, stories and YCH, think about what you created with that software.
P.D. sorry for my bad english. <.<

Maybe sometime I will regret this, and MAYBE I will miss my characters, but I can't enjoy what I'm doing, if I CAN'T realise my ideas as I want to!

There is no need to erase them or at least you should upload them to the cloud for yourself, in case you regret having deleted them. Or at least, close your stories and ych, to start a new stage.

If you enjoy doing it, I say stick with blender. It's become more feature rich than anything you can pay for and is insanely powerful. Just make sure to follow some tutorials first, the interface usually scares people away before anything else.

I can migrate to Blender, but then you will never see animations from me, because Blender don't support D|S morphs.

I don't know what they are but with tools like rigify available in the blender community it's not hard to rig a character for posing and animation

There is a 3D program called iClone where you can import DAZ Studio characters and objects with their Daz Genesis Extension. You can even implement for the great things DAZ Studio doesn't have support for and make animations with it. But, you shouldn't quit 3D now since you've had years of experience with it. I'm even considering migrating to iClone myself, when I can afford to do so. Oh, here's a video to help explain my point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLNV5zSFadPdkMWowbL0...

"wow coll" I thought watching this video. But it crashes my videodriver everytime I'm trying to render something. Plus that shitty model converter works properly only GENESIS figures. I'm not using them
