In the latest National Geographic, I've come across an article on a recently-created beverage hydration index, which rates how hydrating a beverage is compared to water, whose "BHI" is 1.0. In other words, the less a drink is peed out within two hours, the better a job it does at hydration.
And milk just happens to have one of the highest BHIs: 1.5.
