That is why many of us practice over and over for many days/weeks/months/years. I once experienced exactly what you are and I couldn't afford any art... So I decided that no matter what I'd teach myself, so I got a couple books, I watched a bunch of tutorials I drew along with them, I watched a ton of anime because I liked the style, I drew lots and lots of individual body parts and eventually was able to scratch out a char. My first art was not pretty but I kept practicing.

Now: [mediumthumb]1282845[/mediumthumb]

So my point here is... Don't give up too easily. But its also got to be something you really really want to do. And when it gets frustrating take a break for a while and try again later. Just keep trying.

That's a heck of a lot of improvement.

I think drawing improvement is just generally slow. I have a habit of looking through the galleries of artists I like to see how much they have improved. So many seem to have stayed stagnant for years, and the ones who do show massive improvement tend to show it over years.

At least I haven't run into anyone who improved leaps and bounds in a matter of weeks or even months.

Its always good to push ones comfort envelope to new limits. Sometimes I have major fails but in the process learned something. I think a lot the stagnant people just got too comfortable and stayed there lol.

Ever hear of a book called "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain"? Or a couple of books regarding drawing furries?
