its been along time since I did one of these
I was so excited to see this. I joked that it looked like the anime version of sharknado or sharktapus
From the trailers I expected to see a Attack of the killer what ever film with killer fish on spiderlegs, in the trailer they show giant sharks, small trout sized fish, and a octopuss
So the film starts and you see a fishing boat hauling in a catch. first off the mix of bad cgi and traditional animation is rather jarring. The film really starts on 3 female friends on a grad trip to Okinawa. these fall into three types, The protagonist, the slut, and the fat one... they smell something horrible and are attacked by a little fish. the next day the slut decideds to have a three some with two guys she met in a local restaurant. this attracts the attention of a giant legged zombie shark which rampages through the house. Everyone survives though the slut character is injured, Her earing is torn out and her foot is pierced with one of the sharks spider foot. To make a long story short these fish swarm the island the protag calls her boyfreind learns that something is happening in tokyo too.
The story is weird with odd illogical disconnects between scenes. Like how no one thought to radio a plane to let them know the runway they are landing at is covered in fish, or a subway train derails and out of all the survivors only 2 decided to to walk the maybe 10 minutes to the next station... which is packed with people waiting for the train but no one heard the accident. or when the chars walk out of the station which doesnt have a door and and find out that there are shards eating people and tossing body parts around and had been for some time but no one in the station seemed to notice.
But the story is weird, and weirder then anyone should expect, with bad pacing and strange art choices
this is not one I could ever really recommend its just so strange
and thats with out getting into the totaly bizzare stuff you learn half way through about wherer the fish legs came from
