Sonic Boom Review for 03/18/2017

Hey, again. Well, this episode of Sonic Boom was interesting. Funny, too. And, this also marks the 1st episode that the cast and crew of Sonic Boom actually live tweeted during the episode. And since I like to live tweet the episodes, too, I got in on the fun. But, I'll talk more about that later.

Right now, let's get into this. Here's my review on the Sonic Boom episode, which aired on March 18th, 2017.

"Robot Employees"

The episode starts at Meh Burger, where we see Eggman ordering a chili dog, because he thinks eating them seems cool and edgy. (Poser... I eat them because they're yummy. :D ) And, of course, Dave gives him the wrong order, giving him a hamburger instead. Eggman then commented that now he wants to burn this place to the ground! :D He was just about to order his robots to attack when Sonic quickly showed up to stop him before doing anything. Eggman then said he has better idea to get decent service. He goes to the head honcho of Meh Burger! ( "If you want to get anything in this country, you'll have to complain until you're blue in the mouth." XD ) So, Eggman, after praising Mr. Slate (the same dude who was Charlie's boss) for being the man behind the institute responsible for more evil than he could ever dream of, he presents an idea on how to improve the quality of Meh Burger: replace Dave with more efficient robot employees. Mr. Slate agreed as the next day, robot workers were taking care of everything in Meh Burger, and doing it 50 times better than Dave ever could if he even bothered to try. As Dave & Mr. Slate watched on, Dave commented that these robots would never be able to replicate the customer service experience that comes from a real live employee... and when Amy asks for some ketchup, Dave tells her to get it herself since he's on his break. As one of the robots gives Amy ketchup, Dave pleads to his boss to give him a chance to prove that he's better than those robots in a contest. Mr. Slate agrees with the condition that if Dave loses, he's fired. (Wait... this is similar to that one SpongeBob cartoon. XD ) Later, at Hedgehog Village Center, the contest was about to begin. The first event was burger flipping. While Dave was doing okay, the robot, now sprouting 6 arms, flipped a crazy amount of burgers, making the final score: Dave - 17, Robots - 135. The next event was to clean the floor of random spills and messes. Dave did a decent job with a mop, but the robot, basically turning itself into a vacuum cleaner, eliminated the mess in a matter of seconds. The final event was to translate the garbled mess from the drive-thru. Needless to say, the robot won that one, too. Mr. Slate immediately fires Dave and announces a special party at the new and improved Meh Burger tomorrow. Sticks, known to never trust anything involving robots, just tells her friends that she's going to the woods to eat unidentified plants, berries, and mushrooms, which... are probably safer to eat compared to when Dave was still working at Meh Burger. XD That night, in the clubhouse of the Lightning Bolt Society, (Hey... they finally brought that club of losers in for Season 2. :D ), Dave informs his fellow members of his firing from his part-time, minimum wage job, and how Meh Burger is going to have a big party tomorrow. He then shares his plan on how to crash this party. The next day, at Meh Burger, Mr. Slate, after announcing the grand re-opening, gives all the patrons free cheeseburgers to celebrate this day. Dave was about to execute his plan when the weasel bandit told the other members of the free cheeseburgers that were being offered. The other members quickly aborted the mission to partake in free cheeseburgers. (Hey, who can argue with free stuff, am I right? :D ) Dave, now in a state of depression as his allies left him for free food, leaves. Eggman then gives a toast to the new Meh Burger, saying that you'll finally get what you ordered, not getting your order completely wrong, served by a lackadaisical slug who doesn't give a rat's butt. In fact, odds are, he probably did serve rats' butts! XD After Mr. Slate assured him that the amount of rat's butts in their burgers are well within the legal limit, Eggman commented that those dark days are forgotten... except by him, so he exacts his revenge on Meh Burger and their customers by trapping everyone in the restaurant in a giant force field! Really?! Eggman already got Dave, the whole reason behind the crappy service, fired. This was highly unnecessary. His pettiness is beyond ridiculous. :D Sonic tries to bust the force field down, but to no avail. Knuckles tries to dig his way out, only to find that the force field penetrates underground, too. Then the robot workers were about to attack the villagers. Knuckles tries to dig his way out, only to find that the force field penetrates underground, too. Then the robot workers were about to attack the villagers. Knuckles threw a burger at one of the robot's vents, causing it to malfunction and explode. Tails placed some mustard and ketchup packets on the ground as Amy smashed them with her hammer, causing mustard and ketchup to get in several robots' eyes, blinding them. As they were blinded, Sonic immobilized them with several spin attacks. As Mr. Slate panics about being trapped, Tails said that there's still one person outside this force field they can contact. Tails uses his wrist communicator to contact Sticks... only for her voice to say that she's in the woods and to leave a message... Then Tails said that Sticks doesn't even own an answering machine. Sticks, holding a corded phone, reminds Tails that she hates machines! XD Tails then tells her that she was right and that Eggman has everyone trapped in Meh Burger. Sticks then does a Scrubs style "I-Told-You-So" dance. XD Tails then tells Sticks that he needs her to get some things from his Workshop. But, since Sticks doesn't understand the techno-jargon of Tails' vocabulary, she just takes everything. :D Sonic proclaimed that Eggman can't keep everyone in here forever. Eggman agreed as he said he's blasting everyone into outer space! He activates several rockets and Meh Burger starts flying up into the sky like Angel freakin' Island! As Eggman laughs and leaves, Sticks arrives and, using a walkie-talkie, asks Tails where Meh Burger is. Tails tells her that it's now above her and she'll have to use his plane to fly up here with the supplies, but she'll need someone to fly it. When asked if there was anyone left in town that could do that Sticks knew of only one person. Sticks convinces Dave to help since they both have one thing in common: they hate robots. So, as both are now wearing special suits for the high altitude, Dave flies Tails' plane up towards the ascending Meh Burger. Meanwhile, Eggman brags about beating Dave, Meh Burger, & Sonic in one fell swoop and having no lines for him to wait on as he looks for jeans. Unfortunately, due to his petty revenge plan, he fails to realize that no one is around to help him find jeans in his size! :D Back at the ascending Meh Burger, Tails informs Sticks that she has to damage some of the rockets to slow down their ascent before they reach the vacuum of space. Sticks then uses her trusty boomerang to destroy several rockets. Once half of them are gone, the other half struggle to keep the large area up, as they start to fall. Meanwhile, Eggman starts to get a suntan... in the crater where Meh Burger was... Oh, boy... that's not gonna end well for him... :D Back up above, Sonic tells the citizens to grab the tablecloths so they can use them as parachutes once the force field is disabled. Tails instructs Sticks on how to use the materials she gathered to create an EMP device to disable the force field. Sticks does this and the force field disappears. This gives the villagers the chance they need as they jump off in their makeshift parachutes. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy were about to jump with their parachutes (Wait, wait, wait... Time out! Why does Tails have a parachute?! He can fly!) when the rockets stop working altogether and Meh Burger plummets. Dave flies down as the gang jumps on. He quickly flies back up before hitting the ground. Soon, Eggman notices the falling patch of land and quickly gets out of the crater before Meh Burger crashes back into place. (That could have went seriously bad or hilarious, depending on your view. XD ) As the villagers land safely, and Dave ends up crashing the plane to the ground anyway (but the gang's all right), Mr. Slate, after landing on Eggman, gives Dave his job back... with a bonus. As Dave flips burgers, Sticks says he went from Intern to Manager. Amy says that, while it was well-deserved for saving everyone, it seems a bit pointless to give him that title, since he's the only worker there. Tails then tells her that he reprogrammed one of Eggman's robot workers. The robot then gives Eggman a salad. Eggman complained that he ordered a chili dog only for the robot to tell him he's on his break. XD

Now, you know me. As an employee of GameStop, I value customer service above all else, but... act like a jerk and you don't deserve proper customer service! :D Plus, I think Eggman should take that serving of salad as a hint... XD

So, yeah, this episode was pretty good. Still think Dave's lack of customer service is inappropriate, but considering it was Eggman getting the brunt of it this time, I'd say it's well deserved. Plus, loved Sticks' dancing. :D

The best part of that night, though. The live tweeting of the voice cast and writers through the use of #AskSonicBoomCrew. It actually ended up trending on Twitter. Seriously, when was the last time ANYTHING on Boomerang trended on Twitter?! That is amazing! In fact, it went so well, Bill Freiberger announced that he, Alan Denton, Mike Pollock, and Cindy Robinson (and probably others) will do another live tweet for the next new episode of Sonic Boom this Saturday. The best part is that the next episode is an Amy episode. And it's one of the episodes that was given a sneak preview through the Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice game. AND this episode was actually written by miss Cindy Robinson. So, yeah. I'm excited for this Saturday!

If you'd like to be a part of the live tweet on Twitter, follow (at)BillFreiberger, (at)AlanTheWriter, (at)RedHeadSaidProd, & (at)ItsAMike (Best follow (at)RogerCraigSmith, (at)VOColleen, (at)WillingBlam, and (at)NFutterman, too, just in case) and use the hashtag #AskSonicBoomCrew. There's also a Q & A portion that'll take place, too. You can also go to this website, too: https://itsamike.wixsite.com/asksonicboomcrew Hope to see ya then. :)

Still no signs of this episode ever showing up in spazz, and there should be an update for today's episode too.
