March priorities - v0.31

For March / Redscale's Adventure v0.31 I am going to focus on adding content for the mission system. Highest priority is the ability to attack the Nezumi where they live, sending your small followers/pawns into the tunnels after them. Second to that is the ability to do more in Howling Tree. Actual conquest of Howling Tree will almost certainly be April or later.

Once those two are in place, I'll be working on adding more sidequest content as well as other content in general.

So... is there any requests? In particular, things you'd like to be able to send your side parties to do? (especially repeatable things.)

As much as reasonable, I'm going to avoid implementing new systems this month and add content using the systems that are in place.

(Regarding the discussion on the previous blog post, I will make my decision after 0.31 goes live, and implement the next steps in the direction I chose in 0.32.)

I'm working on some "marking" (watersports) scenes. Might add some paw-centric stuff in the future.

Since Istaran has pretty well left me to pursue my own priorities, I'd consider taking requests.

Something with wolf or rat cubs perhaps? Not sure how those circumstances will be entered, but got to give that cub fetish filter something to do. That and a dragon giving some sensual moments with them is definitely going to spur a lot of other players on.

There's an issue with cub in that it can't be linked from fenoxo's forum, which means... I don't know how we retroactively deal with that, but it sets up the one who posted the link there to get perma banned, and loses us a relatively good source of visibility for the game. It's also an issue if I wanted to repost to many other sites, although I've been avoiding that anyways thus far.

So far I've just been kicking the can down the road, so to speak, and not committing to either choice. There's certainly a lot that could be done with cub content specifically, and IMO it fits in more naturally than some other kinks.

Something we could do is add cub, even though i'm not a fan of it, in a seperate upload of the game just for inkbunny. Downside would be more work since it'd have to be updated separately from the actual game unless we add it in as a version 1.01 update just for IB.

Right. Similar could be said of making a version with human/near-human characters. (Inkbunny policy forbids them in sexual content, not necessarily in the work as a whole. So they'd just be immune to rape and seduction in the inkbunny version.)

If I go that route, I need to put some work up front into how to easily produce alternative versions. I.e. maybe replace my .cmd file that does the compilation on one click with something longer that compiles all the alt versions in one click. So I need to be able to structure things in a way that allows that.

In any case, I'm definitely not doing that in March.

I think we would be able to do that with tortoiseSVN since people download the game through it and then can update it straight to their computer, and just have multiple download links for the various versions. I know Sim Brothel: Revival uses it, and it's a pretty huge game and you just have to update it on your computer using the game link.

Planning any more species to seduce enslave recruit? We have canines, felines, rodents, and three types of reptiles. How about...say, an equine race? Or mustelid? Or avian?

On the topic of repeatable missions, how about recruitment jobs? Or pest control missions, to reduce the chances of mass combat, or reduce the incidence of overlevelled opponents? Or giving intel on when the next bluescale is planning to patrol?

Recruitment actually sounds like a pretty reasonable option. (Btw, I've added the code so Glitterscale can enslave enemies herself now. So if you use her to lead your expeditions she can add to your pawns that way.)

In regards to the other species being implemented, I actually already have a few sexual interactions written up for an equine species, both anthro and feral, but they just haven't been put in yet due to the current progress of the game, but if boss wants to put them in soon, then they'll have a m/m anal, oral, frotting,(all reverseable) and reverse vore scene, and m/f vaginal, anal, oral, and impregnation scenes. I've already gotten them written up and saved in a few different text files, although I might need to update them since I wrote them like, two years ago after I went off the grid for a bit, but if/when we add equines, i've got them covered. Big thing to keep in mind always though is that we're still only at version 0.31, meaning a lot can still be added.

*not reverse vore, I meant anal vore, and that's only if Istaran wants it in the game, because I wrote it up just because it seemed like something that would make sense for horses for some reason...I don't know, I get weird when i'm horny. Although, a thought popped into my head just now...slimes, gelatinous oozes, etc to encounter in the caves that could add some various fetishes that I could write up no problem while also adding another enemy that is interesting in that they are immune to most physical attacks and being weak to your breath/magic attacks. losing to one that's immune to fire early on would result in it "raping" you, but losing to one that's immune to lightning early on could result to it digesting you, resulting in a game over. But, we could add ooze potions that could do various things, like give you and your minions increased resistances to fire/lightning/cold for a short time, or could even be thrown at enemies for damage. As for scenes, I could add things like male impregnation, urethral slime insertion, and etc. since slime is pretty flexible as far as application goes.

I like S1erra's suggestions, recruit/capture missions sound good. Perhaps, after you've added the function for repeatables in, you can add a new building to allow auto-repeat quests (after they're working properly).

For instance: An Adventurer's Guild in Howling Tree, after capturing it could allow you to set a party up to do your quests automatically, and serve as a source of income, to some extent. For instance (in an instance xP): You have your party already working on a quest, so you set up a quest, and a traveling group of adventurers MIGHT take the quest, in return for a certain amount of gold coins from your hoard, or food, etc.

It would make some sense, since you're just taking control, not destroying the city. You have lots of sway, so you can add or remove buildings, and an adventurer's guild makes sense in a decently sized city like that, surrounded by dangerous lands.

The way I could see it working is: Set up the guild, set up your party, choose some staff (or have that be auto handled, whatever) either send your party out one quest at a time, or set them to auto-complete a certain one. Activate a few other quests, and decide if you want them to always be active, or only one time jobs, Each in-game day there's a chance for a group of adventurers to wander through and take the quest, after a while, you find out whether the job was successful or not, if successful, you lose the reward for the quest, but gain the requested items, if failed, the quest is reposted (it's reposted if you have it set to auto-post, of course), repeat.

Too jumbled, slightly condensed version: Guild => Party => Quest Options => Chance to have random quest started each day (also small chance to gain predetermined amount of 'money' ie: copper, silver, or gold coins, as the cover charge for taking the request) => Success/Failure => If failure non-permanent quest returns to board, on success, only permanent quest returns to board => On success you lose promised reward (gold, food, furs, etc.) and gain requested service (food, furs, lower enemy presence, etc.) => Repeat.

This way, you could, if you manage it properly, you could have a stable supply of resources to support yourself, if you don't manage it properly you might run out of resources. You could use this as a way to add in a 'relationship' feature later between cities and build your way up to being on friendly terms with non-bluescale cities, leading to higher risk/reward options for your guild(s) in the major cities you own, etc. A way to distract yourself if you need a break from fighting.

Of course, this is a long comment, and it's also a bit off topic...so...>.>...On topic, a repeatable quest for trading/bartering for a resource by offering up what's in your hoard(s)/inventory would be pretty nice, Being able to make a quest to patrol the area, and repel/capture intruders, leading to 1) No attacks on your hoard, 2) meat/furs from defeated opponents, or 3) Captives from a party of raiders/bandits that were encountered. Of course, failure should always being a possibility, so it doesn't outshine the buildings made specifically for the collection of the resources.

So, part of it would fall into what you said you aren't doing at the moment, a new system, but it's an idea that came to me while thinking about repeatable quests, and I didn't want to not post it and end up forgetting. Though, technically, you've already failed that, since the quests are technically a new system xP

Really looking forward to these updates, using higher level pawns/followers to strike out against the Nezumi sounds great, and I would love to be able to send my pawns out to do scouting/recruitment in Howling Tree and other inhabited areas. A higher level zone that you basically have to proxy your way under the radar of big-baddies would be the thing I would take the most interest in. I love me some strategy in the games I play.

hmm, after reading the other comments, I think something to add to the repeatables is targeted raids on randomly generated settlements, villages, and cities that can bring back treasure, goods, foods and POWs/slaves that will add to your fear stat as you'd build a reputation as a bandit lord. Additionally, you could do it in the other direction where you send your minions to protect those randomly generated places from attacks to build up a positive reputation.

I'd forgo cub material since it's widely banned in a lot of popular locations.

 I'd like more surrender scenes, especially if you get someone's will to fuck up. I want stuff with the dire rats like the worgs, maybe a bigger version of the rats. I'd really like a rodent gang bang with them if you surrender to them. Gnolls would be a fun addition. They could have kobold slaves and stuff. Griffons, satyrs, and a whole host of other creatures from mythology would be cool.

Don't know if you're aware, the dire rats and some other nonsapient beings have sex scenes that are accessible if you set the appropriate filter and then defeat them using Wrestle as the finishing move. They don't have the followup scenes like worg do though.

Gnolls are part of my plan but I know those are well down the line.

I do know, I just want some more rat stuff, I guess I wasn't clear. A seduce scene and follow up scenes would be cool. They're my favorite and why I love the Nezumi's so much. I think a big boss rat that you can recruit would be cool. Having another high defense follower would help mass battles. They're could be a special game over with the rat boss where he uses you for rat-dragon hybrids to conquer the world, or they turn main character and co into sex slaves.

 Bty, are there Wondering Eye x Redscale scenes in there other than forcing yourself and the stuff with midnight?

Nezumi are getting some more content this month, though primarily non-sexual in nature. (Not to say there won't be more sex.)

Wandering Eye could certainly use more content in general. His main story arc isn't going to be out for quite some time though. Note that the 'fuck' button gives different results depending on your level of affinity with him.

More species to get would be neat in long haul, like centaurs, Harpies and what not stuff you don't see often in games these days, granted I think both those had a little bit of love of late...

Since you're building upon followers and pawns being able to act independently, a simpler way of equipping followers and/or tracking inventory would be good. Something about having to distribute dozens of weapons, armors and other equipment to dozens of followers and pawns one at a time really grates the nerves.

Templates would be awesome.
