Thinking in new stuff, tools for work...

I am tired of this pc, I am tired to see some pictures lost because my pc randomly crash. I will need new computer and a new tablet for draw, I am saving money for this thing, today is not the best time for buy that kind of things, but in this job I will require it with urgency.

I am looking for computers, but you know what? here in Mexico sucks as hell! very bad, very obsolete and very expensive, some stores are selling pc as news or powerful, and for strange reason the tablets has the triple of price as I bought my first tablet. That is not fair.

So I am thinking in buy by internet. I am comparing prices and those things, but I am calculating I will need at least $900 for a computer can support me at least by 10 years for videos, videogames, corel, animation programs, edition and those things and $100 for a new tablet.

This is a temporal estimate I am calculating for this busyness, only I am counting the pc and tablet, mouse, monitors and those things I have tons of those things thanks to my father, is an engineer, so I can find anything about it.

I am not requesting money, but If you want help me donating on my patreon or paypal I will apreciate it.

And if you have ideas for compare prices, models, better places for buy or something like please let me know, I will apreciate your support.

Buying refurbished items can be a good way to save money, that is an option.

Would be, but is hard to find pieces at least here because:

1.- Corruption, maybe will give you a new piece, but you don´t know if works or not, and you cannot demand because again, the autorities doesn´t do anything.
2.- High prices, again is thank to the corruption.

That is why I am no looking for items here in Mexico, plus the problems with piracy and those things, I am tired of it.

I was thinking online for that, not local.

Sounds shitty though, hope you find  something good.

Just be careful when buying computer. Cheap may be more affordable, but may not come with features you need, and hard to repair or upgrade.

Agree. And I am not sure where to buy, excepting serious sites, but I am not sure where basically.

You could build something like this for gaming: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/V9bpRG
But then this would be better for video editing: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MXxfGf
Or you could go insane and build this ^_^ : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PmgPcc

I seriously doubt it :P
All of those parts are like 11 years NEWER than a core duo 2 :D

Computers aren't very hard to get into once you get a basic understanding ^^
First, the CPU is like the brain of the computer, the number cruncher, the 'thinker'.
RAM, or Random Access Memory is very fast temporary place that programs store and retrieve data.
A hard drive is a slower permanent place that programs store and retrieve data.
The motherboard, is like a city with streets that go to the CPU, RAM, hard drive, and other components.
The better or wider these streets are, the faster the data can travel around from your motherboard to  your components.

Computers get faster and the amount of data they can hold get larger every year. 10 years ago, a 32bit CPU could only recognize about 3.5gb of RAM. Now with 64bit CPU's  you can A LOT more RAM. With current motherboards for consumers right now, it's 128gb.

More RAM means that you can run more programs at the same time and also work with larger files because you'll have more room to store all that temporary data. It makes a huge difference.  Right now I have 32gb of RAM on my machine. When I only had 16gb, it used to crash when Photoshop would use too much memory. Now it never happens unless go insane and really push things.

A faster CPU has a lot of benefits too. Your whole machine will be able to do things quicker than with an older slower CPU. The CPU you choose will determine which motherboard you can use because a number of CPUs can have different sockets. Like "LGA2011" or "LGA1151" for Intel CPUs.

Next, you pick your motherboard based on the socket type of the CPU you'll be using. Then you pick out what kind of RAM you want. There's different types and speeds of RAM too. Right now, DDR4 is the newest thing. A year or two ago it was DDR3, and before that DDR2 :P Usually when you go to pick out a motherboard, you'll want to look at it's specs to see what kind of RAM and how much RAM it supports. DDR2 will never work in a motherboard that only takes DDR4, for example.

Oh and last but not least is your video card. These do all the graphics processing for your computer and they can go from decently priced to insanely expensive. Video cards are essentially like a little "mini computer" you plug into your motherboard. The have their own GPU (graphics processing unit) and RAM.  If you play a lot of heavy video games, you'll want a nice beefy video card to help with that.

Anyway, that pcpartpicker site is pretty handy for planning when you build a computer. It should also be easy to find videos on youtube on how to build a computer. I can find a few if you want. But if you want a good PC for $900, building it is really the only way you're going to get most bang for your buck ^^
