My friend had a Point.

I should have made it where anyone who has ALREADY been a watcher can enter. And just not ask to spread word.

I will be doing that for all future raffles and just prioritize people who watched because they liked my art. Just so I don't attract people that just want free art.

both of you got a good point there!

randome people (often people who don't draw art their own) who just added an artist mostly take advantage of that.

This is exactly the reason why I haven't done a raffle when I hit 200 watchers. Now that I think about it, I might do a raffle for my *longtime watchers* when I hit 250 (or maybe less)

I wouldn't say that spreading the word for a raffle is necessarily a bad thing as it gets more people coming to your page. For example, I found out about you after Cycy made a journal about the raffle. But I do also see where your friend is coming from. Keeping your raffle exclusively to your current watchers is probably a much smarter decision for as you said, there's the possibility of people following solely for the free art, and not for the artist themselves.

I agree with what blackcrow says, that raffles are usually better when they're for longtime watchers and not newcomers

Yeah, I don't see why I did realize this before. I do want to spread word so more people can watch me, but I don't want people to watch just for free art.

and you just got 7 new watchers ever since  you published this journal
