Colorpencil tutorial + FurnalEquinox + Artists'Alley

Three topics I want to talk about in one journal!!

I did a color pencil video tutorial, which you can check it out on youtube.
It's a fact I'm going to Furnal Equinox, my first trip to Canada.
And I'll have a place at Artists' Alley there.

COLOR PENCIL VIDEO TUTORIAL

I was asked many times how I do my traditional works with color pencils, it is not a big science I think, I'd love to be better on other traditional techniques as watercolors, or acrylics. But well, I tried my best explaining on a language that many of you already know is not my native one. ENGLISH.

It is the very first time I do something like this. I've done many art streams before, even in traditional, but it's the first time I dared to speak in front of the camera, and doing a large video about it.

If you want to take it a look, follow this link:

And if you want to check the still picture... it is now submitted on this gallery right here:

I'll try to do more tutorials for many reasons: to improve my way to explain what I do, I really think this way I can understand what exactly I'm doing, and teaching things I also learn a lot; also to improve my english pronunciation, if you watch the video, probably you'll notice are many words I misspronounce; and for last, I really want to share my knowledge, as the same I've taken knowledge from many other artists through the time.

Feedback are always well received.

TORONTO & FURNAL EQUINOX 2017

I'm planing my very first trip to Canada in my life, it will be to Toronto. I wrote a previous journal about it, and I want to thank to all of you who have given me recommendations where to eat and to visit around Toronto city.
At first I was planned to make this trip for my own, all alone but visiting friends, hanging out with some guys there, but get moving for myself. Well, two other friends joined my plan so I won't be completely lonely there, which is cool, I think it is nice to share experiences with good friends.

The main excuse for my trips in new cities I hadn't known before, are furry conventions, I really wanted to visit Canada, I was between going to Vancoufur, CampFur or Furnal Equinox, but since some friends invited me to this last con, and I know many good friends who are attending this one, it was a definitive decision which one I was going to choose. And it is also a perfect geolographical location to visit Niagara falls (I'll cross off another plan for life visiting those falls).

So... for those who are going to FE, there I'll see you!!
If you see me walking on fursuit, or if you see me on my table at artists alley, or just walking around there and recognize me, don't hesitate to say hi, and ask for a hug or a pic if I'm on panda mode.

And as always say, please be respectful. I'm always nice and happy, because furry cons are like a huge comfort zone for me. And I love when people close to me and say hi, but don't scare me. I've had some experiences with creepers at cons that are not really nice. And I never want to change my "friendly" behavior for people like that. I promise I won't change.

ARTISTS' ALLEY

The last thing I want to talk about on this journal is that I applied for a slot for have a table at Furnal Equinox artists' alley. And I got it.

I only asked for one day, on friday. You know I want to enjoy the convention and not only going for work. Being part of the alley it is also really fun for me, tho. Being between more artists, talking with people who arrives to my place, to be drawing and earning some extra money for the trip (I never recover funds of the trip, many have asked me that)...

But when the list of the alley was up, I realized they also put me on Sunday. I'm not 100% sure if I'm gonna take that day, or leave it for an artist on the waitlist.

But for sure I'll be on Friday there. Check the list on this link:

https://furnalequinox.com/artists-alley-2017/

Now, I think this is really important for those who are planning to visit my table:
I'll only have 5 slots per day, the commissions will cost $30 (CAD), but this time probably will include color, I'm gonna take with me some watercolors and maybe markers. Or only black inks, to make results very similar as my inktobers.
The first two people who arrive my table on Friday to ask me for a commission, will receive a free mug with art by me, so arrive early
I found some really old printed stickers that I sold on my very first time I had a place on an artists' alley on Mexico city, at TNT comic convention, but now I consider them extremely old... so with the simple action of going to my table and say hi, or take a look to one of my sketchbooks, you'll receive for free a sticker of your choice from that separated box of old stickers, one per head.
Even if I'm giving some stickers and mugs for free, I'll be selling some regular current stickers designs, and some prints in frames. Because selling them in frames is even more cool that only sell prints, in my opinion.
I can't save slots on internet, you need to arrive early Friday. Only SFW (I think that is obvios, but I had a very awkward experience at Anthrocon where someone was asking and insisting me to draw a NSFW idea, please, do not!)

Friday the dealers den (the same place where the artists will be) will open at 12:00 and closes at 18:00
On Sunday will open at 10:00 and close at 17:00

If you don't have a sketchbook where I can draw on, I'll provide a nice sheet.
See you there!!!

That video was great! Good editing and process too. I can't speak for the art creation side but it shows that everything I thought I knew about coloured pencils was a lie - I thought they were next to useless haha.

Also, it's good to see that you did the typical English-as-a-second/third/etc-language tradition. Apologise for it many times and then speak it better than the natives ;)

English has turned into the universal language, so it is a necessity to learn it (and even so, not many people in my country speak it). And thanks to speak it, I've found many amazing people around the world and great experiences traveling.
