And the window drops out...

It's like just when you think things are moving in the right direction, something else crashes down on your head.

The motor and actuator of the driver's side window in our 2007 Honda Element failed, and the window fell into the door. Thankfully, the window didn't shatter. However, it's now trapped in the door. We had a mechanic look at it and they gave us an estimate of $280 to fix it (parts and labor). I'm shopping around to find somewhere cheaper, but no luck yet. The part looks to be worth around $80. I may end up buying it and seeing if I can just get someone to pay for labor to put it in.

As of right now, I constructed a makeshift window out of clear packing tape. It doesn't look pretty, but I can see the mirror, and it will (hopefully) keep water out of the car if it rains.

As for our day-to-day life...my wife has one day of medication left, and I have $2.48 in one account (out of which a $30 bill is coming out in 3 days), and $0.49 in the other account.

I would really like to avoid anything going overdrawn, and of course I would like to avoid my wife running out of medication. If anyone can spare anything... $30 into GoFundMe will ensure that we don't go overdrawn in 3 days. Anything else will go toward my wife's medication.

Keep in mind though, GFM takes 4 days to dump into the account, and she's going to be out of meds tomorrow night. So...there are other options. You could commission me, the link to that info is at the bottom of the post.

Please...we're doing OK on food at the moment, but she really needs the meds, and I don't need her to have to deal with the stress of us being overdrawn...again.

Each additional day of medication is a boon for us - it means we only have to get hit with the $5 withdrawl fee once instead of multiple times. Her meds are $14 a day, plus the fee. So for one day, with a withdrawl fee, it comes out to $19, but if I can withdraw 2 days it would just be $33. I hope this makes sense.

Just, I need as many days as possible.

On top of all this, I did get a traffic ticket for the red light I ran on my way to the emergency dentist in December, but there's no posted bail amount yet to pay off so I still don't know how much that will be. I'll be updating this when I have a chance.

As far as my own medical situation - they're worried I may have thyroid cancer. There's a biopsy of the large nodule in my thyroid scheduled for March 11th, but they want me to get it sooner if I can find another Endocrinologist that takes my insurance. I'm going to be having an MRI on the tumor in my leg to find out what it is as well, in the next couple of weeks. And I have a follow-up dental appointment for full x-rays and a work-up to be done on the 11th of February.

The 24th of this month, I'm sitting in on a free consultation with a lawyer to see if they can do anything for us, bankruptcy wise. Here's hoping they can.

Still haven't heard back about getting my wife on Disability, and now we're living in fear of the Affordable Care Act being repealed and leaving us high and dry with no way to pay for my prescriptions on top of hers. Currently, MY pills (hypertension and pain management) are covered, her meds are not. But if both of us aren't covered...well, I have no idea how expensive my pills are without insurance, but I can pretty much promise you we couldn't afford it.

So all we can do is keep moving forward and hold on to hope. You all are the primary source of that hope, and all the help you've given us so far that's kept us going this last year.

Thank you all for everything you do. The world needs more people like you.
