Nintendo Switch News Bits

First, the launch details:
• Launch date: March 3 (worldwide)
• MSRP: $300 USD
No region lock, so if there’s ever a game that doesn’t come out here that you want, go ahead and import it.

And now, the games. First, Nintendo:
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a confirmed launch title, releasing 3/3.
• The Mario game from the original trailer is called Super Mario Odyssey, and features Mario travelling across multiple worlds.
• That Splatoon game is not a port, but a full-fledged sequel: Splatoon 2.
• That Mario Kart game is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a Wii U port with a new Battle mode and new Splatoon-themed content.
1-2-Switch: a 2-player party game where the players stare at each other, rather than the screen.
ARMS: A fighting game where the characters have long stretchy arms and customizable gauntlets.

Now, for some third-party games:
Skyrim and NBA2K18 are officially confirmed. (They were in the original trailer)
• And Skyrim isn’t the only major PC game coming to Switch; Minecraft -- both the original and Telltale’s Story Mode -- are on the way as well.
• Atlus is working on a new Shin Megami Tensei game running on Unreal Engine 4.
• Bandai Namco is porting Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
• Capcom’s first Switch announcement is Ultra Street Fighter II, a retro brawler celebrating Street Fighter’s 30th anniversary.
• EA’s first announced Switch game is the next installment of FIFA.
• Konami revealed Super Bomberman R, a revival of Hudson’s iconic series. (Launch day release).
• Koei Tecmo is bringing Fire Emblem Warriors; think Hyrule Warriors, but with FE characters instead.
• Monolith Soft announced Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
• Square Enix is bringing a ton of Dragon Quest: X, XI, and a Heroes compilation. They also announced a new IP: Project Octopath Traveler.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which includes Plague of Shadows and the upcoming Specter of Torment, is also on the way.
• In addition to Just Dance 2017, Ubisoft has announced a “Definitive Edition” of Rayman Legends.
• And God bless Sega! In addition to Project Sonic 2017 Sonic Forces, they’ve also announced Sonic Mania and Puyo Puyo Tetris for Switch, with the latter receiving an official western release this spring (PS4 version as well).
