My Skype is Hacked

As most of you know, i no longer use skype as a means of communication. But apparently i got multiple reports from my friends that said they got links sent from my skype account.

Please don't click it, just ignore it, please.

Right now i will properly close the account instead of waiting for another slob to use it fro their own nefarious means.

Be aware, this may also be malware that is monitoring your password and keyboard inputs. You may want to scan with Malwarebytes.

Also: Change your passwords on another device.

Yep, that could be it, or something else. But i am running precautions, just in case. And that's on top of closing that account too, i mean, i never use it anymore, no point in keeping it around.

I'm not sure anything can help against it. I recently got a malicious message like that on Skype from a person who died a few years ago. All these years nobody was logging into that Skype account and suddenly I get a message from it. Skype has serious security issues.

I saw the link and only tried to access it because by coincidence I was expecting to get a message from you with a link. However, the slowness of my connection saved me.

I am sorry, that was the hacker doing. But rest assured, i am closing the account properly this time. You will never receive a weird message from me ever again *snugs*

There are too few businesses that let you actually "close" an account these days. I seriously doubt with how tethered to all other services it is, Microsoft will let you close your Skype/Microsoft account.

To my surprise, they provided a means to close down the account. So i did just that. Hopefully this won;t happen again.

Well, that's good to hear. Surprising to hear... Hummm... I get the feeling where you live might have something to do with what you can do regarding closing your account.

Or not! Wow, Microsoft lets you even close your Microsoft accounts. Can't believe that.

Now that I know this, I'll need to remember to kill my Skype account after a while; I still wanna keep it open for people to find me easily on Discord.
