The True Meaning of Christmas?

[iconname]KyleBique[/iconname] send me a message requesting for help
and i ask what was the matter? then she said
"ive been only using my knowledge to determine what Christmas is all about, what Christmas is really about"

so i also did my thinking and inspire me to do this journal!

well you want to know what Christmas is all about? here is a list:

if you are religious its about the birth of the lord and Saviour
if you are a pagan (any one that is not Christian according to "Christians") its just a holiday
if you are Jewish its a Christian celebration of a false Messiah.
if you are a merchant its about profit!, merchandise and buying and sales
if your a lil brat its about presents and been good to get rewarded!
if your a lil child its about presents Family friends candy and good times!
if your a socialist its about giving and sharing and loving those who are less fortunate
if you are a Grinch its about hatting as much as you can Christmas and every one that loves it!
if your a capitalist its about the good wealth of only those near to your circle
if your an atheist you don't really care but you can play along
if your a historian its about a era period change memorial from ancient Rome to Christianity
if you are a Pervert Its about you been on santa's naughty list and getting a naughty present for that.
if your an archaeologist its about the transformation of a solstice ancient celebration that Christians
took over to prevent "pagan" celebrations to be celebrated in a campaign to convert other cultures.

and if you are like ME!, it does not freaking matter since every one has a reason to celebrate it
if its been with family and friends love, friendship, and good will toward men it does not matter
you can give it your own meaning since in the end what you do in the holiday is what makes
it special not really its origins or fundamental meaning. you can just celebrate it for just cause
you like to celebrate it. its meaning has been changed and transform along the ages that its impossible to say that all of the above are not correct. Christmas is what you want Christmas to be.

And to make this a better world we should all in the words of big bird

"Keep Christmas with you
All through the year,
When Christmas is over,
Save some Christmas cheer.
These precious moments,
Hold them very dear
And keep Christmas with you
All through the year".

I hope i helped to give a meaning to your Christmas
and Merry Christmas! or as we say in my country Feliz Navidad!
keep it up and keep it kool!

"if your an atheist you don't really care but you can play along"

Very true sir, very true.

Christmas to me isn't about anything in particular. It's the fact that Christmas means something to everyone that it has meaning; it's a time of year we can all share to make us feel happy and loved, and a great reason to go see family members who are important to us even though we don't see them as much as we should.

So to me in particular as an Atheist, I don't find much meaning in the name of Christ or the Pagan holiday it evolved from, but my family does, and I love my family, so in turn that is what is important to me.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.

I believe the true meaning of Christmas has something to do with unity despite differences and caring for one another in a time of dark and cold.

Your list portrays it very accurately, in which the true meaning of Christmas for myself would be best described by the first category in that list.
