Hello my fuzzy friends and followers! It is I, Lakota, king of the lions! (Yes you may start chuckling at that here). Anyways, this little journal post is to let you all know that you won't be hearing from me for a bit as my family and I travel down south for the holidays. Christmas is one of those days that for us has just become a bit overdone with traditions and commercialism that the true spirit of the day and the season feels sucked out of it. Also with the loss of my sister being around this time of the year on top of that all it is hard for us to really bring out that Christmas cheer. So late last year we thought it was time to shake things up, and do something unexpected, new, and luckily warmer.
We aren't celebrating this year, merely enjoying time together basking in the sun and the tequila in Cancun Mexico! Watch as I come back and complain to you all that I am more sunburned than burnt toast, sick of tacos, and hopefully ready for the year ahead (which I hope is far better than the train wreck that 2016 was). So no gifts this year, no cards, no lights or trees, just a reset and much needed R&R to finish off the end of the year.
I'll be back to posting art and such within two weeks, then off again to hang with you all relatively shortly down in California for Further Confusion 2017, my first con of the new year! But for now I must pack, I always put this off to the last minute and with a VERY early morning flight I want to make sure I don't forget anything. So I will leave this here, but before I go I do want to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and holidays, and a happy and roar filled new year to you all. You are my friends and I care about you all.
Now time to get on my inner Deadpool....TACOS!
