How many of you picked Popplio for either sun or moon? I picked the little seal for moon and i don't care that it's a male, i still think Primarina is a pretty Pokemon. i enjoy every time i open the Pokemon care slot in the pause menu to interact with my Pokemon that Primarina is happy to see me. his affection is maxed out and it helps in battle since an affectionate Pokemon is more likely to dodge an attack in order to impress the trainer.
Yes the design is a bit feminine and all i have to say is, so? there's nothing wrong with a male character having feminine features. on top of that, from my understanding, Primarina is based after a Siren, which in Greek mythology could either be a beautiful woman on land or a mermaid in the sea with a lovely singing voice. and wouldn't you know, Popplio has 3 moves that all deal with his/her voice, Disarming voice, Sing, and Sparkling Aria/Oceanic Operetta. the design is reminiscent of a mermaid, one of two forms for Sirens depending on the mythology used.
long story short, i enjoy Primarinas design even if it doesn't fit the male archetype.
