R.I.P. Dual Monitors

So this past week my 10 year old, Dell LCD monitor has been having issues working with my rig, and today it seems to have quit completely.

It still get's power, the PC can detect its input, but can't seem to read it anymore, no matter what.

I tracked down the driver for it and tried reinstalling that, but nothing.

This won't stop me from working, but it made things alot easier on me.  I can use my laptop as a second screen, but it being an entirely different computer kinda less convenient.

R.I.P. Dell monitor.  You  were the first one I owned for this PC and you served me well.

it might be saved!
connect it and turn it on. and put a powerful flashlight to the screen. if the backlight went out but you can still see color on the monitor though the flashlight then you could save the monitor by replacing the burst capacitors inside of it. ive lost and fixed a few flat screen monitors this way. however you need to find someone who is good at soldering.

even if it fails the flashlight test it could still be saved. look into it. you will need the data sheet of the monitor to get the right capacitors

I've had two monitors go out on me this decade. It's always frustrating, but at least I now have 1080p TV monitor. Well, at least until I can afford a whole new rig! in about 50 years...
