Motivating myself to draw

I've been playing Pokemon for a week now and the game disappointed me a lot, so my Pokemon fever has dropped down since. I also am watching some artist streaming and it does give me some more motivation to be drawing and likely to be streaming soon. I also still have the requested list in mind, so no worries about that. However I do have some characters in mind first, to get my motivation going.

However, an important question I have in mind to ask you is : Should I lower the quality of my content so I can get to draw more consistently and often ?This isn't something I want to do, but seeing how it gets harder and harder to release a new drawing, I think I may have to drop my expectations just a little before my gallery becomes a wasteland

Lower the quality as in, draw nothing but sketches and line art, or maybe flat coloring,if any coloring at all? If this is the case, then I used to ask myself the same question. I personally decided to take a quality over quantity approach. Not that I consider anything that I draw to be quality, but I figured that since I draw at a turtle's pace, I might as well take my time to put 100%  into each drawing. That way, if I want to see improvement, I'm forced to outdo myself a bit with each new drawing. I could submit a few sketches or doodles a week if I really wanted to, but I like the way line work and coloring breath life into a drawing. So as a result, drawings end up taking me anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 weeks to finish, but it's worth it in the end. It's all about  not only motivating yourself enough to do this crazy stuff on a regular basis, but to be happy while doing it. Which is admittedly much easier said than done. With that said, I hope you do find a subject matter or characters that make you want to pick up your tablet and draw more often.

I really hate the idea of lowering my quality of content, but I'm ready to stop trying to draw really hard poses if needed instead, those are really what makes a drawing take so much time, like for Glasan where it took 16 hours compared to Popsicle Girl when I'm sure took 10 hours or less. Same for the background, I recently switched to simple looking background and they don't take as much time as before like for Slurpuff but they still look good for what they are

I see, I get where you're coming from if you feel like your most recent work was far too tedious. It never hurts to experiment, so if you really want to try simplifying things a bit, go for it. Who knows? Maybe you'll find a way to make your drawings more appealing for both you, and anyone watching you. Sometimes less is more.  I should really follow my own advice sometimes and draw more cutesy simplistic characters like Kyubey, the Jewelpets, and Mimigas, etc.
