Here in the States, it's Thanksgiving. After today, only one big holiday remains: CHRISTMAS!
And with that in mind, I'd like to share with Inkbunny this holiday song that is essentially the Brazilian equivalent of Auld Lang Syne. Um Novo Tempo was written by Marcos Valle, his brother Paulo Sérgio, and Nelson Motta for Rede Globo's '71-'72 New Year campaign. The song, supposedly symbolizing the end of radio's dominance in Brazilian mass media, quickly caught on; now it's an annual tradition for Globo to air this incredibly catchy song in one style or another during December.
