Welp, he did it. Trump managed to get himself elected into the White House. Despite a close race, he won out in the end. It isn't the result I was hoping for, but this vote wasn't mine. I didn't get Bernie, and then I didn't get Clinton.
Honestly, I feel it is a mistake we may come to regret. But, I wasn't one to argue with folks about it, though I encouraged folks to vote and would tell them what I thought if asked. But hey, I get it to a fault, folks are tired of the runaround with politics. They are tired of empty promises, and somehow he struck a chord.
But I think it sends a wrong message. Trump isn't the first celebrity to become president (less we forget Ronald Regan), but simply put it tells folks that as long as you have money and are in the public eye, you can treat folks however you want. You can say things that incite hatred, you can treat women like dirt, and long as you have money you can get whatever you want.
Hopefully my impression of him is wrong and he does right by us; but my gut instinct is to say he won't. He'll do things to benefit his businesses and such, and forget the rest of us.
I'm not gonna insult those that voted for him; I ain't got the fight in me at this point. And if you comment here, I ask you be respectful of each other. I won't tolerate fighting and bickering and insulting, seeing enough of that already.
But I am sad. But hoping I'm mistaken in my views...
