oh, it's been so long since the last time I've been here...
I finally got out of the second row of exams -of this quarter- in the admission course I'm making to get into the Graphic Designer carreer. I hate it. I hate it so much. All this course making me go
to subjects that hardly, barely have something to do with graphic design.
Maths? yeah, I may use equations or some numbers when designing.
Scientific Thinking? it's good to know how the reasoning methods evolved during history, but if the point is "to teach me to think", then make think ABOUT HOW TO BE CREATIVE.
HISTORY? what the hell the history of my country have anything to do with graphic design?? teach me the history of great designers, artists, sculptors, evolution of graphic methods, techniques!
not the old boring crap that wasn't my thing on high school! oh, right, I getcha, this university is almost as old as our independence, it's a piece of history of our nation. okay. SO?
Philosophy? this is a funny one. History + "to teach me to think" crap. Only fancy and sophisticated, yet again, barely NOTHING to do about being creative. While Plato and everything around
him was interesting, I didn't find connection nor reason on why I must approve this or any of the subjects above to start the carrer.
But what can I do or say? It's the system of public university here. You want a carrer "for free"? Pay with your soul. As if 2 hours travel to go + 2 hours travel to come back weren't enough, I
have to fight all this, in my opinion, pointless ritual, leaving me with no energies to work on my stuff.
Whew. There. Sorry for making it long and boring. I wanted to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by getting this steam of my chest and telling what has been of me all this time. Most precisely to my
commissioners, who I can't apologize enough for delaying so much.
BUT, from now until I get the results of the exams, it'll be around a week and some more day, so in the meantime, I'm planning on working on those commssions, and maybe something else if I
get some more time remaining.
