TMI Tuesday

Go for it!

And since it's getting close to Halloween, tell me your favorite classical monster. Y'know, vampires, werewolves, tax collectors. Personally, I've always had a soft spot for werewolves, as well as other were-creatures. Shame Megan doesn't have a wolf-form.

Yet.

Bunnywolves are adorable. Like the one dating Megan's daughter. I'd ask her for a little nibble, but I think she might take it the wrong way.

Hmm, not sure they count as classic monsters yet.... but I've always been a fan of Predator and Xenomorphs.
and as for that bunnywolf Megan is dating.... hehe i don't think there could be a wrong way for her to take it.  she seems pretty cute.

I don't know if they count officially yet or not, but since the xenomorphs have been around for as long as I have, I'd say that makes them pretty classic! I'm a huge fan of the first to films, myself, and I probably know more about the production of Alien than is good for me.

Megan isn't dating the bunnywolf, though, it's Megan's elder daughter Deborah who is.

ooohhhhhh, hehe yes then there might be a little awkwardness.
EEE Mika just had a little girl!  She's so adorable!  (somehow through the splicing of her and her best friend Helia my shark girl)  She now has an adorable sugar glider/shark daughter!  (picture to come soon)
Might have to get a girl of yours, and mine together for a playdate!

Yea I have a hard time calling Predator and Xenomorphs classic, as I don't want to date myself with that either lol.  But they are my favorites.

Aww, that sounds absolutely adorable! I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing her when she arrives! A play-date sounds adorable, too. Deborah could be aged down for a picture, if you like, or Megan has a younger daughter named Kyree who is about seven. I'd be glad to have either one of them in the picture.

I know what you mean about not wanting to date yourself, too. Though I have a feeling that both creatures are going to be remembered for a very long time, and will probably become classics in time.

Aw, thank you! I'm super proud of my little Kyree, and my boyfriend does such lovely art of her!

Aww, and Melody is just as cute as she can be! I love the combination of shark and sugar glider features, especially that cute little tail of hers. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of her, and she's a gorgeous little one you should be very proud of!

Great monsters eh?
Does Richard M Nixon count?

Well, how about Tor Johnson in "The Beast from Yucca Flats."

Giving the options we're facing for the near future, I think I might just want Nixon back!

I've never seen that particular film. One to add to my list!

Tor Johnson. ;-) The Beast from Yucca Flats.

*laughs* You have to give him credit. After reviewing his tapes, it became apparent that he'd made "cocksucker" a household word.

My favourite classical monster is a Dragon, personally ... Now ... for the TMI question ...

Have you ever used anal beads?
MeganBryar
7 years, 6 months ago
Dragons can be really neat. I've always had a bit of soft spot for Tolkien's dragons, especially Chrysophylax, who I always found somewhat more interesting than Smaug.

As for the question, no. To be honest, I kind of find the idea a tad off-putting.

Monster? Was always a fan of Vampires myself.
Also a fun fact: Drew Carey once dyed his hair, lost the pants to the Vampire costume he was going to wear, and went to a Halloween party as "The pants-less vampire".

Question for a bunny... hmm...
Halloween plans, for one? Party, haunted house, or just handing out candy? I'm betting Haunted House.

I never much cared for vampires, until I met my friend [iconname]Liane[/iconname]. I always kind of found most iterations of the theme to be rather boring, to be honest, and preferred the bestial qualities of the werewolf. But there have been some vampire stories that have been done very well, too.

I don't really have any plans for Halloween, except maybe to watch some cheesy old zombie films. All of my friends live too far away for a party and I love too far outside of town to get little monsters knocking on my door. But I love the holiday anyway.

oooh, cheesy horror movies!
Can I come?

I was always interested in vampires for their longevity, and less the drinking blood and terrorizing the townsfolk parts.
Would have to say one of my favorite Vampire movies would be "Interview with the Vampire".
MeganBryar

Sure, just bring your own blanket to hide under when things get scary!

That is a point, and I've always kind of liked the idea of characters with longevity. Though I tend to prefer stories such as The Twilight Zone's Long Live Walter Jameson or Star Trek's Requiem for Methuselah that dealt with otherwise ordinary humans who, for whatever reason, usually some kind of spell or alchemy, had had their lives unnaturally extended for centuries if not millennia. Though I suppose there's no reason why that idea couldn't be combined with a vampire story, either, since a lot of stories have vampires making converts of their victims.

I did quite enjoy Terry Pratchett's take on Vampires in his novel Carpe Jugulum, too, especially the conflict between the old-school, traditional vampire and the more modern younger generation. But then, just about everything Pratchett ever touched turned to literary gold. I like his take on werewolves better than the more traditional, mindless, bloodthirsty monster style, too. Though that could be fun in its own right.

I watched the first Scream movie when I was 6. I loved it.
Scary movies are badass... Instead of blankets, I'll bring chips, dip, and drinks.

I think the first actual horror film I watched was Aliens, which I watched for the first time when I was maybe 10. The film would have been about three years old, then. I was 17 When Scream came out, and I've never seen it, mostly because there aren't any movie theaters in my town and then I was busy with getting ready for college and all of that fun stuff.

So that dates me!

you never got to see Scream... aw.
Well, I do hope you will this Halloween.

Bunnicula..  all that juice sucking from a rabbit.. mmmhmm...

Question for you, in the spirit of things, What was your most favorite costume/dress up idea you ever pulled off?

MeganBryar
7 years, 6 months ago
I remember the Bunnicula books. I used to really like them when I was a kid. It's lucky he was a vampire rabbit, though, or he'd have been the world's fattest, most diabetic rabbit by book two!

It has been so long I barely remember what costumes I even had as a kid. But probably the best one, at least in a technical sense of actually somewhat looking the part, was my attempt at going as a pirate.

Definitely the werewolf is my favorite. Lon Chaney Jr. in the famous scene with the gypsy fortune teller.....
"My son, you wear the sign of the PENTAGRAM!!!!" Probably also my favorite movie quote of all time also. ;3
MeganBryar

Werewolves are awesome. Though I might be being swayed toward cute, freckle-nosed vampire rabbits. Just a bit.

I clearly need to watch more of his films!
Liane
7 years, 6 months ago
I can just see it now. The old gypsy grabs my paw....looks at it with a shocked face and says...''My daughter, you wear the sign of the Lapinogram!''

Chaney Jr. did a bunch of good films, though the werewolf is my favorite of his roles. ;3
