Well tbh it did kill 1000 people in Haiti. But then again, people in Haiti live in shacks and it's pretty close to being a failed state. And considering how much money from charities disappeared and was mismanaged after the 2010 earthquake, they're fucked. The power company is at least on my street today. Taking longer than expected, but I know it's a tough job. I think I'll get it back soon. Better than losing power from three storms in 2004 for up to two weeks at a time where I used to live, in a more rural area. Which also had well water so couldn't even take cold showers or flush toilets. At least that's not an issue where I am now.
