Paraphore Blog 10/10/16 - Volume control, and better disk saving
In the last weeks I've mostly been taking it slow, as midterms are next week.
But I have added a few things to the engine. Volume control is now available on the main menu, you are additionally asked if you'd like to mute audio when the game first loads, this is to prevent sudden loud noises after preloading.
I'm also currently working on a better option to save the game to the disk, the Inkbunny release of the game has such an option, but it is blocked by Inkbunny, presumably for security reasons. The feature opens a "Save as..." window prompting you to chose a location to save the game, then later you could import the saves in a similar way.
When saving Flash games, the data is saved in your browser cookies, so if you're in private browsing, switch machine, or simply let the cookies expire the all your save data will be gone. The game is going to be growing a lot larger in the coming releases, so the ability to save to the disk becomes more and more important.
I've also made various ui tweaks which are too numerous for me to list.
