First off, some great big jackalope hugs to all those who messaged me or left comments about my last post of chapter one of Adventures in Wolfsitting. I really appreciate all the nice and supportive comments from you all and the votes of confidence.
I’m posting chapter two of Wolfsitting today as promised and I play to keep this pace up of one chapter per week. As of this journal entry I have probably enough chapters outlined in rough draft to take me through a couple of months with more ideas on the way. I’m really getting to like these characters and seeing how their personalities are evolving as I write more. I hope those reading think so too.
I’ve also started another story on the side that had a wholly different tone and setting that I’m also trying to flesh out. It’s about an out of work otter who lands a very odd job offer that basically too good to be true, but also too good to pass up. He spends most of the story learning more about the hidden aspects of what he’s hired to do and has to make some personal and ethical choices about what they’ve hired him to do. It will also be posted here and is also cub-centric in nature. Not quite as lighthearted and goofy as Wolfsitting but I wouldn’t call it dark either. Hopefully you guys will like it. I don’t have a specific date on when the first chapter will be ready other than, ‘Hopefully soon’.
Thus far, Wolfsitting has been pleasantly surprising as a story to work on and develop. To date, I’ve never written more than just short stories and some of those are more like scenes than actual stories. This really does mark the first time for me that I’ve written anything close to an actual full story of sorts, though I still have no idea how this is supposed to conclude. We'll see. For now, I’m not going to worry about it and just keep chugging along and let this experiment go as it wills.
