How did Han Solo leave Jakku after losing the Falcon...?

I knew there was something bugging the hell out of me about that ship we saw flying away in Rey's vision/memory in TFA. It bears a striking resemblance to Noa's ship from The Battle For Endor. A cursory google search suggests I'm not the only one to notice it.

I always liked that ship. I'm actually a little dissapointed in myself for not noticing sooner. I must be more diligent! QUICK! I need to re-watch TFA again! ... oh, damnit, but I'm really into playing Baldur's Gate again now, and this time with the Enhanced Edition, and after binge watching a TONNE of actual D&D games on youtube and twitch, I'm having a much more fun time. My pseudo-dragon even has some lines of dialogue, and rides around in my pack! That is the coolest thing. Ever.

This would be a FAR more satisfactory origin for Rey than being a Solo or a Skywalker. In fact being the whole point of EXPANDING the universe, rather than shrinking it by making everyone part of the Skywalker clan.
Also, apparently there's some suggestion too that Captain Phasma could have been Cindel, which is also an interesting idea... but after hanging out with Ewoks, we're supposed to imagine Cindel joining up with the Empire's replacements? Nah. I mean... not unless brainwashing. To whit: if Phasma were Cindel, and ever reunited with her ewok friends, how would her brainwashing hold up?

So, what do you think? Is this just an easter egg, calling back a fondly remembered spin-off movie? (which is rather amusing because of what is happening with the Star Wars franchise now, with new sequels... and spin-off movies...)...

OR...

Could Rey have been Cindel?

I mean, I know the Ewok Adventures are supposed to have been set "some time between" Empire and Jedi... but... that never made any sense at all. Not with the "family shuttle trip gone wrong" from Caravan, and then the marauders/scavengers shooting things with blasters and Noa's shipwreck (and the fact that Wicket can speak ENGLISH is it still canonically called Basic?) from the sequel... As far as the magic that seems to exist in the film... well, Clone Wars and Rebels have delved deeply into the ever-elusive substance that is "the force", with all sorts of crazy, seemingly-magic, mumbo-jumbo. I mean, of course, Mother Talzin in particular.

But it always FELT like it came AFTER Jedi. After the fall of the Empire. Where families and settlers looking to start fesh... and junk collectors and space pirates looking for something valuable... would undoubtedly have rushed to the lush, forested moon of Endor. Famous site of the fall of the Empire's greatest second greatest weapon, and the Emperor himself. The rebels could never have hoped to collect every piece of wayward space debris, or recovered every fallen stormtrooper's weapon, across ALL of the battlefields where they clashed with the evil Empire. In the end, their attempt to rebuild the republic didn't really work, with the rise of the First Order... at what point would they have abandoned a place like Endor, a lone, frontier world, to the scavengers of the galaxy?

I mean... wherever it falls in the story, SOMEone came back, right? They stole Vader's helmet... unless Luke ended up taking the remains with him... hmm... morbid. Maybe that's how Kylo learned to speak to him? Maybe that's what Luke did? And I swear Kylo dropped it onto a pile of ashes... but those could have been anybody's ashes. Oh, that little psychopath! What will he do next...? ;P

~

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Either they tell us where Rey came from, or they let us run wild with crazy theories, and never tell us who she's supposed to be. That's fine too, the galaxy is a big place, filled with loads of people. They can't ALL be related to someone already a famous part of the Star Wars saga. Though it does tend to seem like anyone important is always human... maybe they ARE all related? Just a great big bunch of space hillbillies.

I suppose we can only wonder at what grand adventures could have led Noa and Cindel across the galaxy to Jakku, and the mystery of why Noa might have left her behind. I wonder how far Jakku is from Endor? I guess that wouldn't mean anything, anyway...

As far as why she got left behind? Well... considering how her whole family died oh shoot! SPOILERS. Though I swear I thought they would find out, by the end of the film, that they weren't all dead... but there you go. CONSIDERING how her life has led from one tragedy to the next... who knows? Maybe Noa wasn't on that ship? Maybe he got killed? Maybe someone stole it? Ooooh, I've just had an interesting thought...

How did HAN SOLO leave Jakku after he lost the Falcon to that guy?! Was that exlained anywhere? Sure, he could have lost the ship somewhere else and then it got brought to Jakku, or a million other possibilities, but I mean... wow. Just imagine... that could have been how Han Solo knows who she is...?

Woah. Mind = blown.

And here I was thinking, "Oh, maybe Noa left her safe on Jakku because he was called to help out with the rebellion/new republic/resistance against the First Order?" you know, because he has a ship,  ... and then there was a great space battle in the skies of Jakku... maybe she spent all that time searching for Noa's ship, and never found it, while she waited for him to return?

Ooooh. I kinda like that idea, and the whole idea of Han Solo being involved too, just crossing paths in passing, SO much that I almost don't want them to tell us something else and spoil it for me. Well... almost. ;3

Whatever the secrets are, they'd better be good! ^_^

Oh really? You don't think they're going to leave a few unexplained mysteries out there now that, you know... we were given the impression that Han knew something about Rey, and now he's not around to elaborate...? I mean, we assume he told Maz, right? If my wild assumptions are correct about Han "borrowing" another ship and stranding a child on Jakku, there's nothing for Maz to tell Rey that Rey doesn't already know, so there won't be any "I am your father" moment.

I'm inclined to believe they won't just explain everything straight away. They'll wait until we've almost forgotten, and when we least expect it... then BAM. There'll be a leak about a new "Star Wars Story" anthology film... I'm probably wrong about it centering around a little girl stranded on the forest moon of Endor, but that ship though. Argh! Them with their deliberate misdirection and all! X3

Yeah, I think I'll be a little disappointed if it turns out one of them is. It'll just feel too much like they're re-doing the original saga.
