America sucks. *Moving rant*

*takes a deep breath*

If it was not for the fact that I work at a prison, I would never be able to move out of my parents.
I'm attempting to move into at least a semi-silenty place (not a shit trailer e.o) and the cheapest I can find is 550 a month. And that's just viewing the basics of it.

"Oh, 550 isn't bad."

Let me take a minute to laugh at anyone who thinks that. Now, let's assume I still worked at Walmart. I made about 5-650 a month.

Ya, that's right. After taxes and shit I only made that much.

Now, let's say I were to live in this 550 place making that. That gives me between 50-100 left. Maybe.

Now utilities (water and electric) would eat the last bit of my money.

Barely liveable right?

Now take into account that (at the time) I had a 150 car hill and 150 insurance bill... That's another 300.

See what I'm getting at here?

It's practically impossible to live on your own, or even with a single room mate. You have to have at least 3 people to make it even remotely comfortable and that's in a cheep ass place.

People wonder why more and more people live with their parents and shit like this is why.

End of rant. >>

I live in northern Arkansas on 10 acres (paid for) with a used, 16 foot camper trailer I paid $200 for as my home.
Electricity and running water are not available where I live. And you travel down a one mile stretch of one lane dirt and rocky road to get to my place. My property does have a creek going through it that is clean enough to drink from. If it were not for the way of life I have, I would never make it in today's American economy.

Within this year the monster we know as the U.S. government wanted to enact federal HUD laws that would have kicked me out of my home because it wouldn't be "good enough" for the new regulations. And they are trying to outlaw gathering water from creeks and rivers.
That's the kind of shit that would put me on that same page saying "America sucks".

Funny though...When someone who speaks broken English living in a 3rd world country half way around the world is living in substandard conditions (Hadji, Obdu or whoever) , the U.S. government tells them, "OHHHHH! You poor people...Living that way...Let us build you a new house at the tax payer's expense of our own people".
But when an American, living on American soil, is living in substandard conditions, the U.S. government tells them "GET OUT! GET OFF OF YOUR OWN PROPERTY! That place you are living in doesn't meet regulations. Go to a homeless shelter for all we care. You were born in America...You know better".

I remember an article where the state I live in tried to ban a man from his own property because it was unsafe living conditions. But all it was, was that he was fully self sufficient :/
