The time of my Van is coming to an end. As much as I would like to keep it going, as I REALLY love my old Mercury Villager, it needs more repairs than it is worth. (Needs about $2500 in repairs all together, which includes new breaks and a replacement of the rack & pinion.) This is a shame because the engine is fine.
I can get am much newer used van for $4000 from a dealership and have it come with a 1 year warranty. I am leaning towards getting a Caravan, though there is a Quest (Nissan) I could get too. (The Mercury Villager IS a Nissan Quest just under the Ford logo.)
Previously, I had :mstover: help me out with picking a van, because well, he knows more about cars than I do, and I trust his judgement. So for this week coming, I am going to look over a few vehicles and make my decision. What I want is a minivan, with key entry (I hate keyless entry), and removable seats. I looked at my friend's cross over.. he has stow-&-go seating and as such has NO cargo space. I have moved couches, freezers, and queen-sized beds in my old van, not to mention traveled with a van full of people and several fursuits to conventions and special events.
So, thanks for the 8 years of service my old Villager. I took you from 290 000 KM to 380 000 KM in the 8 and a half years I have owned you. Now, I need to decide, donate the car or give it to someone who wants to try and fix it themselves.
