Climbing the Food Chain: Introduction

by
Climbing the Food Chain: With the revitalization of competitive blood sports in which contestants fight to the death for the amusement of the audience, one particular series has garnered a massive rise in popularity. Having been subjected to genetic modification, Climbing the Food Chain is a sport in which players are dropped naked and defenseless on a private island and must survive for as long as possible. Those who manage to survive to the end of the running season (about 12 months) are declared the winners. The losers, on the other hand, die horribly for the entertainment of the audience at home!

While the island is not without it's own share of dangers, the most common cause of death among the game's players is cannibalism. The name of the show is derived from the tradition of players hunting each other for food. After reaching the island, they desperately begin to craft their own tools, traps and hunting supplies in order to capture, kill and eat their fellow players in to survive another day. Only the strongest or the cleverest manage to survive to the end of the season, hence the name of the show.

There are two ways to watch Climbing the Food Chain for viewers at home. The first is to buy the episode bundles when they are released in stores. The second method is to watch the 24 hour live stream on the show's website. There are benefits and cons to both methods. Those who watch the live stream get to see the action as it happens, but don't have the control options that they would normally. Those who buy the episodes get access to special features and control options, but they have to wait for the episodes to be shipped out, which means they're already weeks behind on the action compared to live streamers.

As previously mentioned, contestants are subjected to genetic modification before they are released on the island. By splicing their DNA with that of various animals, the contestants have access to abilities that ordinary humans do not possess. Such as natural weaponry, heightened senses, more powerful bodies, and defense against the elements. It also has the side effect of heightening their primal instincts, allowing them to adjust to the sport quicker than normally expected!

In addition to the real deaths caught on video, Climbing the Food Chain's popularity is due to its anything-goes rating system. Nothing is censored during broadcast hours and every form of conduct is considered legal. Tensions run high when you're fighting for your life on an uncivilized island, and sometimes contestants have other urges that they need to satisfy in order to keep from going insane.

Since its original premier in the year 50,016, Climbing the Food Chain has lasted for 17 seasons with a total count of 23 successful winners. Its producers intend to continue running for even more seasons to come once it collects enough players to fill its roster.

If you enjoy a good blood sport and aren't afraid to die a violent, gruesome death, broad cast in front of millions world wide, then Climbing the Food Chain happily welcomes applications to take part in the show. Just visit your local Blood Sports Center and fill out the form! But just to clarify, we take no responsibility for any bodily or psychological harm that comes to you as a result of being on our show!

Modification Programs: The following is a list of available modifications that contestants may expect to receive, along with a medical examination.

Hybridization - All contestants on Climbing the Food Chain are genetically spliced with animal DNA, turning them into anthropomorphic hybrids. Depending on what species they're combined with, they can receive a variety of natural weapons and defenses their human form did not possess.

Size Alteration - The modification process is capable of altering the contestant's physical build within a range of up to 200% of its original size. This change in size can include growth or shrinkage depending on the individual.

Primal Instincts - Contestants on the show have modified brain chemistry that makes them more receptive to natural instincts. They can react to situations much faster than normal humans, but their behavior is considered by many to be primitive and uncivilized.

Enhanced Metabolism - Due to the nature of the sport, contestants on Climbing the Food Chain need to be constantly active and alert. To achieve this, they are given a metabolic boost that allows them to digest food and convert energy several times more efficiently than normal humans.
