A company and the author, Kaworu Watashiya has started a kickstarter to fund the english publishing of Kodomo No Jikan (uncensored). It offers many great rewards (some by the author herself, but they are sold out for now). If this gets funded highly enough, it could be a great gateway to show the Americans and other english speakers a different view on some hot button topics.
If you are like me and are in support of the project, but would rather it be in volumes instead of omnibuses, please make a pledge for it, and then comment and ask for individual volumes to be a stretch goal. Then spread the word so that we can reach that goal. They won't ignore us if a lot of us ask for it. Their actions so far have proved that.
This whole cub art ban on FN was a total step backwards in terms of social progress, but this could be a great step forward, opening their eyes to how many people support artistic expression and freedom, but also it makes it available to be read in the US. Before, you had to seek out scanlations of Kodomo No Jikan to read it. When it is available officially, people will be willing to give it a chance and read some of it, and when that happens, they will see through the misconceptions.
Now, this is lolicon and not cub, so, some of you may be opposed to it, and that is ok, but I do hope that you give it a try someday. If you are not opposed to lolicon, but don't support it, it is also an important step to supporting cub art.
Even if you don't like lolicon, if you would like to see a positive move for understanding or even just progression in general, or if you wish to strike a blow against censorship, please help fund this project and/or spread the word.
