Yes, yes, they are happening! I got a promotion at work and will be relocating to manage an office twice the size of the one I currently manage. I must be doing something right! I'm super excited but anxious at the same time. My main pay is commission, from sales (I also get salary but it's not that much). Moving to a new territory could be either really, really, good or really, really, bad. Lets PRO and CON it:
~:PRO's:~ Larger territory means more customers which means more potential commissions. This new office is (almost) fully staffed. The place I'm renting is pretty nice, not the best, but a lot nicer than what I'm accustomed to. It over looks a lake! The area I'll be living is a quiet, small town, in Northern Wisconsin...which is just beautiful scenery. I asked my girl friend if she wanted to come with me and she said yes :) and she has a husky :)
~:CON's:~ I asked my girl friend if she wanted to come with me and she said yes :| This is a bit scary...she's not part of the fandom. I told her the things she needs to know: I'm part of the fandom, I love cartooning, I'm bi, I own some toys, I love porn, and I enjoy drinking. Turns out she likes drinking, she likes porn, she owns some toys, she likes cartoons/disney, and she's afraid I'll leave her for a guy. I found that to be funny, I'm a reliable stoax (stoat fox). My rent has doubled and my gf has commission style pay too. She'll need to have about a month or two to get her pay back to what it should be. I'm leaving an office, my office, in the hands of someone else. I grew this territory for three years, tripling it size. This business is my baby and I'm handing it off to someone else :< I'm leaving some awesome people behind, people that have helped me out of some dark places. I owe these people my happiness. If it weren't for these people, particularly one family, I would most likely have drank myself to death. Be careful when you drink, people, only good vibes. Don't drink because you're depressed, drink to happy things.
Move in date is June 1st. Once I get settled, there will be more art than what I usually do. The gf knows I art and she enjoys it....well....she knows of the clean stuff. Baby steps ;) I want to continue getting better and share my art with the fandom. I may open up cheap commission slots too ($10-$15 USD depending on color ,sketch, ect.). They would look something like this CLICK ME but with a basic background. I love the thought of drawing something for someone and them "buying" me a case of beer. Every time I grab that beer, I will think of you and the happiness that we have exchanged through the commission process down to the last can of beer. It's a happiness exchange! I'll post a journal when the time comes. I'll keep it cheap...I mean, I want to draw anyway so why would I charge a shit ton of money for it? Or any at all. I do like art trades.
