The game is really good. In fact it's the battle system that everyone likes about the game. As for the story it was kinda made in mind that you already played the first game so it will spoiled the ending of the first game in the opening and then some, but it also explains events from the first game without sounding forced not of the time. Even then it'll still spoil the first game unless you don't want to pick it up.
