Arrived in Seattle with minor difficulties

Hello my dears. I finally arrived in Seattle however at 8:20 in the morning on the 28'th, I was involved in a car accident, going into a head on collision with another driver. Both cars were totaled in the damage, but thankfully both me and the other driver, a very brave and strong woman, only suffered minor damage to our left hands. We were both grateful, just to be talking there in the ambulance than on the other side. I have some things ahead of me still, and I'll be seeing this through making sure both her husband and her are seen to at this time by my insurances. In the meanwhile, I have to continue on building up in Seattle and I am just grateful to still be here with you all. Take care now.

I'm glad to hear you're (mostly) okay!  Did the airbags deploy?

Yes and thank god they didn't touch me for the most part. That's actually why both our hands and arms got hurt. It popped out the bone in my middle finger and brushed past my arm burning a small area of skin. As for the other driver it impacted her wrist creating major swelling and bruising.

Ow.  Still, it could've been much worse.

I'm curious how it happened, but I won't push you if you don't want to talk about it right now.

I had left the motel I stayed the night in around 7:20. I had been on the road in Idaho for an hour and pulled off towards Mountain Home following a truck. Both of us were stopping for gas at the station however my vision was impaired from the truck ahead since the through lane to the station went on oncoming traffic. The truck began to turn and I assumed it was clear, by the time I noticed it suddenly halt I was too far out into the oncoming lane and saw the car. We collided most likely at 45mph or less, both on the driver's sides which took our wheels, the windshield and the bumpers. Airbags were deployed on both vehicles which ironically damaged both our left arms, mainly my hand, and the wrist of the other driver. While I have admitted fault on the report, I will need to see the police report in the next week when it is finalized, and go from there.

Those things (car accidents) are NO fun at ALL!
I'm glad you're ok for the most part and that the other person is too.
Also hope it all gets sorted out and you can get on with getting settled
into your new home.

Oh goodness, glad everything is relatively okay in the end. I live in Seattle too, hope you like it here as much as I do after that mess gets sorted out!

I've been in a few accidents in my life, but I can't think of a one in which I was involved in a head-on collision, so admittedly that's a new one on me.  Just glad there were no fatalities in the aforementioned crash, and that everyone's (more or less) okay!  Those are the sorts of accidents I fear the worst!

I'm glad you're okay, Doc. Sounds like the accident was pretty gnarly, but you came out alright! You'll have to re-train that middle finger. If you're sitting in traffic on a Monday coming from work, that will probably be enough therapy for that particular finger though.
Stay safe there man, I look to you often for inspiration. I wish I read sooner but alas - I'll have a beer for you.

Well thankfully I won't be in a car for a long while. Washington has an excellent public transportation system, and while it may be a bit more stiff than usual, my hand is coming around finally. May good health find you, and drink some water for me too. ;)
