Interview done for Sonamybrazil and my fans from Brazil by Aval0nX < Journal

This was an interview I was asked for from my fans in Brazil, I'm copy pasting the actual questions as they are and answering them as best as I can.

SonAmyBrazil: Why the name "Aval0nX"?

Hmm interesting question, I've mentioned this before to those who've asked me.  Well you see I'm half British my mother was born in Southampton I'm proud of that and my occasional British accent outbursts I get when I talk with people on skype.  When I was little my mother would tell us the stories from her childhood.  One of the stories that always fascinated me was the one of king Arthur.  In the end of his tale he is laid to rest in the isle of Avalon.  I was born and raised in a tiny island myself so I always identified with this, my home being in an island and all.  When I decided to come out and be known to the world I had to choose a pen name as all the good and smart artists do.  There were many possible choices but in the end Avalonx was my choice, Avalon for the fact that I live in an island, and X because I'd be known for my porn.  UNFORTUNATELY Avalonx was taken by someone on deviantart so I had to switch the o for a zero so it became Aval0nX, and that is the origin of the name.

Anonymous: Do you like video games? What games?

YES I love games, I'm particularly fond of strategy games in general be them RTS or Turn Based I love sandbox games, easy and complicated (like minecraft and dwarf fortress) I also like my old school games I used to play as a kid ( SEGA, SNES, etc) I like RPG games and Pen & Papper/ Dice Rolling games, in college I was a very famous dungeon master for a DnD group of about 10 people.  I can play MOBA games like DotA and League of Legends, but...I'd rather not bring that subject particularly in THIS interview.  I also occasionally play FPS games tough I'm not a die hard fan as they sometimes make me a bit dizzy, I despise sports or car racing games as I find the fact of driving in a circle or doing the same cheap moves a bit monotonous and boring.  I hope that answers your question.

William: What kind of food do you like?

hmmm I really enjoy a lot of different kinds of food, other than your average fast food junk food I'm particularly fond of Mexican food I like spicy food, I really eat anything I'm put in a plate, in front of me, if it's food, it's food.  Tough for my diet I'm a bit of a meatatarian, tough I enjoy a nice big salad bowl before I eat a nice cut of meat.  Aval0nX's patented buffet salad choice: Iceberg lettuce topped with string cut carrot, with diced black olive and that little square gourmet ham they serve in buffets, topped with mac and cheese, AND cottage cheese and some corn on the side, and some 1000 island sauce...now I'm hungry...damnit.

Antonio: How do you know Sonic?

my first game console was a SEGA master system and Sonic was among the first games I ever played in my life, and since 1993 I've been collecting the comics and Sonic related stuff, I don't have a huge collection, but I got some stuff, and about 95% of all the Archie issues.

Andrew: Do you like what Sonic? Classic or Modern?

For me he'll always be one in the same, I despise the idiots who are making all this bullshit about classic and modern crap, sure the generations thingy is nice and all but honestly SEGA is trying it's best to put the train back in it's track, sort of like how Capcom is trying to fix their...little problem with Megaman.

Anonymous: Why only draw Sonic porn?

I draw more than just Sonic Porn HOWEVER my brother specializes in hentai, human that is, he's not known online and now that he's seen how fucked up being famous on the internet is, he's thinking it twice about posting ANYTHING online.  My intention as Aval0nX was to showcase my Sonic Porn but if the community asks me to draw some anthro of furry art I'd be more than happy too, tough it's not my main focus as Aval0nX.

PS: my brother and I learned to draw together basically next to each other and he's as good or twice as good as me.

Canhoti: What prompted you to start drawing porn, especially porn Sonic

well it's a story from long ago, but when me and my brother...which you should know we're only a few minutes older than each other,  turned 11 - 12yo there was a book sale, we both where rabid Sonic fans, and we found a how to draw Sonic and the gang book from the SatAM series, it's a thin blue book and it's right there in my desk close to my sketchbooks and my heart.  I bought the how to draw book, and my brother bought a set of sketchbooks and drawing pencils.  There was a time when our father worked on the mainland US and we lived there for about a year and a half, I can't say which state but I can say that it was close to the North East.  And we had our first experience with Cable Television, so one day we're watching TV around 11:30pm, It was a weekend and our parents where exhausted and went to sleep, my brother and I where good and responsible and since it was a weekend they let us stay up as late as we wanted, my brother sat down on the couch and accidentally sat on the remote and the channel changed to a late night porn channel. Now imagine my brother and I puberty is starting up and we see cable porn for the first time.  One thing lead to another and one day I showed my bro a sketch I did of Sonic fucking Sally since we knew from the SatAM and comics that there was attraction involved, my brother giggled and told me that was awesome, and we'll that's when the madness began.

Anonymous: Since when you started drawing designs ponos Sonic?

we'll like I said in the previous question since I was 11 - 12yo but I started to get "better" about 5 years ago.

Anonymous: Since when did you and Avian know each other?

since I started working on the Cream Babysitting Game about 2 years ago.

Rafael: What is your favorite character? It may be a video game, movie, book, anime, ect.

I can't answer that question as it opens up the possibility for hacking attempts, I'm a fucking computer programmer, I'm not stupid.  tough I tend to make my security questions answers super unrelated specially after being hacked several times.

Maria da Silva: What kind of furry porn you like best? Example: Cub, stright, Lesbian, Gay, other.

honestly anything that is NOT extreme I hate /a/ or /ah/ material (I take that from Fchan) /a/ means alternative and /ah/ alternative hardcore (examples: violence, watersports, extreme bondage, and all that other crap)

Jose dos Santos: you draw other characters from other games or anime?

YES tough as Aval0nX I choose to specialize in Sonic Porn

SonAmyBrazil: one day you plan to start drawing on livestream?

I wish to return to livestream, tough since there's the asshole patrol that is constantly looking to flag my channels in order to get me banned due to their jealousy and flawed moral views It's pretty hard to get a channel without it getting banned like 2 weeks later.

Anonymous: You do Inkbunny Commissions in or not?

I'm planning on that when I finish working on the game.

Anonymous: In which are the female characters of the Sonic universe do you like most?

Carol: What tips do you give to whoever will begin drawing?

practice makes perfect, look for references, think three dimensional, and If you're going to draw anthro, learn and practice anatomy.

Cream Babysitting Games:
Roberta: What made you want to create a Sonic game porn?

Hmmm good question, I guess there aren't enough Sonic Porn games out there.

Anonymous: The game Cream Babysitting Games is eroge? You relied on some eroge to play?

yeah I was sorta inspired in Japanese eroge visual novels.

Matthew: How many people on the team? It's what everyone does? Example: Aval0nX (Director), Avian (programmer), ????. ?????,

Well there's me I'm currently the Producer, Writer, and secondary artist, Avian (Feathered Adventures) who is the Co-Producer, Co-Writer and Lead Programmer, Grose-chan who I'm proud to have as the lead artist since he's producing quality and bulk art that makes my jaw drop every time. Other than that I've lost communication with the original team and many of my original beta testers back when my first account was hacked, but I've been regaining communication from time to time. Sergewolf is one of the head proofreaders and Zhou Zai is our colorist tough I haven't heard from him in a while mostly because I haven't been able to bee online much. OH and eXcito is among our head advisers  >=3

Carol: The game ging several secondary story or not?

errr...ummm I don't quite get it, but sequel...VERY UNLIKELY due to all the problems that this game alone has brought.  Besides after this Avian will work on other projects which I'm looking forward to see put in motion.

Roberto: Avian hear that the game is doing with Multi Language? If true, would have any chance in Brazilian Portuguese Language?

I can't quite answer that, since Avian is the one in charge of the programming.  But we're received offers to translate the game to Russian, Japanese, among others, tough I don't think Portuguese was on the list.

SonAmyBrazil: The art direction (effect of light and shadow and scenarios) will remain the same as the previous version or will have more details on the effect of light and shadow, scenarios drawn or photo?

err the backgrounds will remain photos, period.  For the first official release of the game most of the art will be in base color, since shading and lighting is time consuming and we want to finish the game ASAP.

Lucas: You have description of the characters in the PC Vanilla? hmmm unfortunately no, though Vanilla's computer will have plenty of awesome uses.

Braga: The game will have mini games or bonus?

I'm pretty sure I talked with Avian about it and It's a possibility.

Anonymous: The characters (Sonic and his friends) of your game is the same age in the form of SEGA or they are older in your game?

older, much older, in fact a little older than the archie comics I'm putting Sonic in his mid twenties and Vanilla in her early to mid thirties. Sally and Amy are about Sonic's age Tails is in his very early teens, and he IS older than Cream, can't say by how much.

Anonymous: The game will feature animation in Flash (cutscene)?

Ana Maria: First, congratulations on your game design Cream Babysitting Games, I'm a girl who likes furry porn, especially Sonic and I know that the game will have scenes of stright and Cub (Sonic and Cream), but wanted to find out if you some other kind of sex scene (genre), for example: Lesbian, MILF, Voyeur, Bisexual, Gay, Femdom, Incest, Pedo, Bestiality, Double Penetration, Drinking, or Gang Bang Threesome, Strap-on Bondage Stripping Toys fri park, party, pregnant, public, Car, Old Man, or Shemale Herm. Well Ana Maria, Avian and I have been trying to cater to a lot of fetishes in this game, we can't put every fetish but we're trying to put as much content as we can, we had some problems with adding Gay scenes, something that enraged a bee's nest within the community and we had to tone the Gay stuff down, but there's a little bit of everything planned.  HOWEVER I can't make myself clearer there won't be EXTREME fetishes involved, sorry.

André: We will have big surprises in the final version? Even after the new update that will soon?

yes! the final version is going to be awesome if everything turns out fine.

Anonymous: What are your plans when you finish the game? Take a vacation?

work on some requests and commissions I had to put on the side while I work on the game, and yeah definitively will take a REAL vacation somewhere.

Anonymous: The final game will be distributed on the web and physical media (CD or DVD)?

Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress eh? I loved playing Dwarf Fortress a while back, though it's been a long time since I played it, and am way into Minecraft... recently I got Terraria as a gift from a certain white kitten, and have found it to be awesome. Have you given that one a try?

ah much better.
was reading it before (the change in font color) and had to stop cause it was hurting my eyes too much.

Thank you for the update and interview, Im fairly sure I get to play fully the last two days,which if I cant get the extension I beleive is nowhere enough to see all of the end possibilities, so looks like Ill have to improve my playing somewhat, thank you. 8)

But a good question that I do hope you don't mind answering: All this hard work that you put into your game that you let most anyone see for free. Whats the true cause to this? I mean is it because you want to test your programming ability? or let your fans enjoy something good? I'm just curious is all. I know people donate, but I hope you know what I mean.

You play pretty much the same games as I do, except RPGs. I play realistic RPGs like the Elder Scrolls, can't wait for 11/11/11!!!

yep. Same here. Looks like both developers act like superstars, thinking more about interviews, promotions, PR, and forgetting about the game. I am realy tired of checking once a day for the april update. Half a year is a long term to test my patience.

Nah, no reason for any PR, it's not like they are a corporation so there is no benefit in any PR stunt. I have been working on several flash projects for years but I have ran into bumps such as...
Lack of original content (I prefer not to use anything from anyone else unless they are involved directly),
Loosing data (Happens alot! Even lost backups!),
Lack of time (Collage and work),
And writer's block (Started on projects, took a break and found I just could not get back in the "zone" unless I started over). Only difference is I don't do "betas" of my work until it is all but finished.

I'm glad Aval0nX has posted betas because it is an excellent game. I do wish he would post every once and awhile (even if it is not about the game) to let us know how things are going, but I understand if he cannot.
