Love Bites

by
My new kitten, Slug, constantly nips at my face. This is extremely frustrating, especially when I am trying to sleep. On more than one occasion she has caused me to be so tired the next morning that I sleep through my alarm and miss class. They are always done in a 'sweet manner'. She purrs and tries to push her nose into mine, then she tries to lick the inside of my nose (I HATE this) She licks at my lips and ears and nips at them all. I realize these are love bites but the only love I need from her at night is for her to leave me alone.
She doesn't seem to get the hint when I roll over as she immediately redirects to the other side, back in front of my face and continues on. I've tried covering my face but this makes it hard to breathe when I'm trying to sleep. I've tried shoving her away and she comes right back. I've pushed her off the bed, and she comes right back, I've swatted her on the nose and she comes right back.
Short of throwing her out of the room, HOW DO I MAKE HER STOP?!! Mind you she wakes me up from sleep and causes me fatigue, I don't have the mentality or energy upon being woken to spray her with a water bottle or redirect her with a toy. Is there a simple solution? Will she grow out of it? I'd like to be able to comfortably cuddle with my kitten someday.

set her out of the room and close your door. that aside, you could probably find a deterrent spray and put some on your pillow or something. I dont have a cat, so I cannot really help. All I got is a dog and 4 fish.

I've tried putting her in the bathroom for the night. (I don't trust her to roam freely without supervision yet) and she just yowls all night and its no better. I'm going to try to play with her before bed and tucker her out, and then keep a spray bottle of water close at hand at night so when she plays with my face with her pointy ends I will spray her!

Now for a serious answer, their are a few ways to encumber her in such a way that she will stop, one of which is to purposely roll on top of her while making sure not to crush her, the best is to hold her just under your chin, rubbing it into her and paying her the same kind of attention she is paying you.  Because of the independent streak most cats have doing so makes her want to have her own space, ditching you almost instantly after she has had enough loving.  Trying to force a cat away when they want attention is primarily a useless endeavor which often just leaves you exhausted in the attempt.  Just give her the attention and she'll not want it.  Surprisingly enough it does work, I have two cats and used that technique on both of them.  Just pin them under your chin, on your stomach, rubbing into them and holding them in place with your arms.  Holding them in place until she wants to get away on her own.

I tried something similar. She immediately wriggled away (With her claws) and hopped off the bed. Played around on the floor for long enough for me to fall back asleep, and then came back and started playing with my face again. lol
I suppose for this method to work I'd have to do it EVERY time. I shall have to try to keep this in mind when I'm asleep. XD Thanks for the help!

usually it takes about a week tops, just make sure you don't let her get away easily, make her work for it, eventually she'll take the hint
