I see it as a venting of frustration Yeah, theres the whole commercialization of it, but really its the fact that its so hard to avoid on the day. Eventually it comes down to the fact that even if you don't want to see v-day stuff it'll crop up, and some people I guess get angry.
Also many people get dumped before Valentines day (it seems to be the time where a person is most likely to be dumped) - if that happened to me and I had to wade through all the lovey stuff Id be pretty ornery too.

I honestly think that single people who moan about it, only do that for attention from other single people. In the course of doing that, they annoy potential partners, the normal people anyway, this pushing the people who could be interested away causing the possibility to no longer occur. Which is fine really, it's their life lol. I'm just saying there are worse things out there than being single, I worry about bills, taxes, payments, finding work, and debts to pay before I can even bring myself to care that I'm single :p which I dont. I'm a catch anyway, someone should love being with me today but nobody is, so it's their loss innit xD

I have it because I am without the person I have loved for 6 years and have no idea if they are dead or alive as we both have depression and helped each other as much as we could, but something happened and now we are no longer togther leaving me even more depressed, if anyone thinks a person is a bad person because they hate seeing people being happy around this time of year then that person is a bad person. Saying no wonder you're single to a person that feels any anger around Valentine's Day just shows how inconsiderate you are. You have no clue what has happened to them, you know nothing about that person unless you are actually friends with them and know what is going on with them. Not saying there aren't people who just flat out hate this "holiday" just saying that you know literally nothing about that person unless again you are friends with them and know what they are going through. " I fear suicide rate of furries will climb because the rest of life is a shit ton more stressful than just a feeling of loneliness :p" while life is in reality more stressful, being alone is even worse to some people, and sometimes people need to be loved by someone to be able to go on with their lives, I am one of those people, when I was with my ex I was able to do things that I previously was not able to do, I did horrible in school before I met them and while were together I was excelling and getting very good grades, but now they are gone, and have been for about 3 months, that was my Christmas present from them, a break up. I have no way to deal with the emotions I feel so I currently do nothing but sit here at my computer listening to depressing music while I miss all the wonderful times I had with him, I don't cry because I don't live alone and don't want the people around me to worry about me. It's hard to go on in life when the support you needed has gone away and the stress of not knowing if they got to the point of depression that they kill themselves in combination with you still loving them and wanting them with you even more so during this time of year, you can either feel very depressed or angry at the sight of others being happy with their loved one, or a combination of both. These are my thoughts and how I feel.
