Remembering 9/11

On that day, the United States of America was attacked

At 8:46 a.m., five hijackers crashed America Airlines Flight 11 into the World Trade Center’s North Tower and at 9:03 a.m. another five hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the South Tower. Not long after, at 9:37 a.m., a third plane from American Airlines, Flight 77, crashed into the Pentagon.

A horrible tragedy that left the entire Country, if not ther World, in shock.

This years marks 10 years since that tragic day. 10 years since America was brutally attacked and scarred for years to come. But this isn’t to be a year of sadness, but a year of remembrance and strength! Strength that comes from us all that we will never forget that day and never let it take us down!

The day: On the day of 9/11, I was the age of 17 and in school. That day, I will never forget. While going to my first class, murmurs passed among the students that the US was under attack. At first, I thought it was just some horrible joke. That is, until I had seen it with my own eyes while in my first mod. The teacher, Phil Miller (My he rest in Peace), had the TV on the news for all to see. I couldn’t believe my eyes nor ears as I watched in sheer horror. But sadly, that wasn’t the end of it. During my morning, word has passed that a second plane had crashed into the Trade Center. By that time, everything had come to a complete halt at the school. Classes canceled lessons and many students left for home, me being one. But not until I had sat there, in my third mod class, watching in complete disbelief. Tears, uncontrollably, fell as I watched. Even now, as this is being typed, I’m crying as I remember that tragic day. A day that I will never forget.
