I've been dreaming Video Game crossovers

I have no idea why this is happening, but lately I've been having weird dreams about video games and the characters that seem to crossover to other video games. First one happened a few nights ago and it went like this:

Starts off like I'm playing Ristar but after the title screen a little voice says, "What could possibly go wrong?" Next thing I know, I'm playing Bubsy (the first one) but the colors are all different. Bubsy is a gold-yellow, like Ristar, and the rooftops are blue or something like that. The level I'm playing is from Bubsy but the music is from the first level of Ristar. Is that weird or what?

Then last night I had another VG crossover. This time I was playing as ToeJam in ToeJam and Earl 2: Panic on Funkotron. I was in an area where running presents were at the edge of the water, but instead of disappearing at the edge the presents would dive in the water and go swimming. Of course I followed them into the water. So now I'm in the aquatic area and I go so far down I have to grab some air from 2 of those puffer fish along the way down. Finally get to the bottom and grab a few presents like you'd expect.

Now to return to the surface. But wait, close to the top there's another area to the side. Checking it out I find this weird looking fish in the corner. Not like any kind of fish from the game. It seems to want me to follow it. Now I'm following this fish into a large area. Then I hear the music from another game. It's the Time Travel song from Ecco 2: The Tides of Time along with the expected bubble vortex. But this is in ToeJam and Earl. Anyway a dolphin appears and it gets a little fuzzy from here. I think the dolphin was wondering where it was because it wasn't expecting to be there. Don't remember if it was Ecco or one of the future dolphins. After this the dream basically ends right about here.

Well, that's all for now. Oh, and that first dream inspired me to try and recreate the effect and make a video of it. Sadly I have no way to record the sounds from any genesis gameplay on my computer. Well, at least not in the same clip as the screen recording. If I could do it, I think it would be a fun project. What do you fellow furries think?

Nearly a year ago you wrote this journal, but I found it interesting because I dream about video games (real or fictional) all the time. In fact, just last night, I was fighting some robot shark boss.
Also, even if not video game related, I love dream-influenced media, both surreal dream-like works, or those inspired by actual dreams brought into waking life. Heck, I even have a pool in my gallery dedicated to just that.

So, in my opinion, it sounds like a cool project, on both fronts. Dreams can be very inspiring. Goodness knows I've started many projects as a result of dreams over the years.
