Help, my laptop broke.

My laptop broke like a week ago (I'm typing from a different computer right now) and I had no idea why! I finally found out what the problem is (something is loose inside the computer) and it's going to take $115 for the new part and to fix it. T_T

Unfortunately, I won't be able to work on commissions until it's fixed either. Once I take it in, it should take only about 3 days to fix. So, I would really appreciate donations for this!

While not knowing your circumstances, I think you are being taken advantage of. "Something loose inside the computer" could simply mean that a connection is loose and needs to be re-established. So I would like you to explain your issue to me before taking the computer to the shop.

I''m currently studying computer system technology in order to hopefully become a computer system network administrator.

Should you accept my help offer before dropping yer laptop off to whomever, I will need some detailed info of what went wrong and how it affected yer system. Also, talk to "Uncle Penguin" in order to verify that I am a person that is willing to help simply because that is what I do.

Errr... Hopefully I have not confused you with someone else, my memory is rather flawed. If not flawed, then Uncle Penguin will assure you that all I want to do is get yer 'puter fixed at the lowest cost, and have it serve you for many years to come.

SIDE NOTE: If you have just started using Windows 8, you are facing the same problems I am. Your computer is actually working fine, but Windows 8 is not designed for "Legacy" machines. I had to degrade my laptop purchased in 2007 to Win 7 just to get it to work again after installing Win8. God what a mess. Files did not cooperate nor did programs and file extensions.

Uncle Penguin? n_n;

What happened is my laptop stopped charging properly while plugged in. The connection felt wobbly or loose, and I was told that the power jack broke inside the chassis.

And I'm not using Win 8.

Penguin= CarLOS, Perhaps I have you mistaken for someone else.

Ah, broken power connection on the main board, a valid problem. Easy to fix if yer handy with a soldering iron, otherwise it is indeed best to let an expert handle such a repair.
