Terms of Service

Am I the only one who actually reads them before they click "I agree"? And who, if they find something in the Terms of Service they don't agree with, doesn't click "I agree"? Like, for instance, in the ToS of twitch.tv, they say
" Twitch may offer certain additional services for which you agree to pay fees to Twitch.
Read that carefully to see what I mean. It's pretty sneaky.

In that exact example involving Twitch, said 'certain additional services' include channel subscriptions and their Turbo service - both of which remove ads.

It sounded to me like you'd "agree" to pay the fees whether you used the feature or not.

I think you're trying to read too much through the lines here, but that line in of itself is not exactly clear.  If that line were clarified to read something like 'Twitch may offer certain voluntary additional services for which you agree to pay fees for', maybe this journal wouldn't exist, or it would discuss some other company's TOU.

It's actually the first time I've actually balked at a ToS. I always read them thoroughly though.

I read them too. One of the reasons why I actually quitted Bandcamp is because of this:
" However, Company reserves the right to i remove, edit or modify any Content in its sole discretion, including without limitation any User Submissions, from the Site or Service at any time, without notice to you and for any reason including, but not limited to, upon receipt of claims or allegations from third parties or authorities relating to such Content or if Company is concerned that you may have violated the Terms of Use, or for no reason at all and ii to remove or block any User Submissions from the Service.

They can remove anyone's content with no reason at all. If an admin happens to have a personal problem with you, then...

That's ridiculous

I so agree.

Reminds me of that South Park episode with Apple and The Human Centipede.

But eh I often use EULAlyzer to analyze ToS, software licences and other legal stuff.
