Where have you seen this happen? I haven't seen this happen. But yeah, that does suck if people do that.

well as long as it's their own character they're doing it to, and not someone else's. They're just being creative, right?

How do you feel about the other way around, where older characters are made into cub versions?

depends on the character,

I'm gonna take a wild-ass guess and assume you're referring to Roni and/or Jesse? If not, disregard this.

Well, Wolfblade once made an older Roni, he still looked nice/sexy but maybe it was because the character was respected. (aka. logical growth/evolution).

I know what you're talking about though, some characters tend to look great when they're young and usually when a 'fan' (placed in quotes for obvious reasons) makes an older version of said character (usually to get around FA's cub-policy) they start to do some unlogical things like 'randomly' giving the guy a goatee, moustasche, taller and often 'built' look with 'rock-hard-abs' *que a drooling Lou*, despite the original character being a 'slob' or lazy meaning: they would never invest time in their body at their older age and even IF they did at one point, 'when' was that supposed to occur? =/
But hey! We're being 'creative' here, can't bring 'logic' into this now can we? =P /sarcasm.

I personally don't 'mind' if people decide to evolve their or existing characters to show a 'what-if' scene if the characters were to get older, but for the merciful love of GOD, please keep the characters growth 'logical' to their 'established' past counterpart. Sometimes it's like putting a hippy inside a redneck republican's office: Just because you 'can' doesn't mean you 'should'.
And those who are saying: "But it's creative and treading beyond the normal guidelines... derp!" there's a sheer difference between 'being creative' and 'simply doing things for the hell of it' (eg. watching the world burn). =w=;

I found Mario's evolution as a character logical, Rayman's evolution was logical and so was Sonic's (despite what some fans might say). Thing is: The personality as well as character traits must be respected 'at-all-times' for an evolution to work properly, as soon as something looks 'off' the rest will fall appart like a cardhouse in a sandstorm. (though, there are some exceptions, like if the character was flawed to begin with, which is often not the case.) An example of 'unlogical' character growth can be Spyro the dragon, in The Legend of Spyro series he went from 'happy-go-lucky', smart-alec dragon to an Emo twat who wants to cut his wrists at every single dropped hat at the excuse of 'character development'. X.x
Oh yeah, because I would certainly not wanna play with a 'cool-and-awesome-dragon-in-an-apocalyptic-setting'... that'd be silly! =P /sarcasm yet again.

What I'm saying is: Growth, Evolution and Creativeness is a good thing, especially in the right hands. The key is to try not go overboard with it... or do it for the wrong reasons. ^^;

I just prefer young characyers stay young, boys girls doesn't matter. Let's use cream the rabbit for example, i HATE when people slap giant tits on her. The change is too much and i dont even accept that drawing as said character, when such a drastic change is made they arent even the same character to me.

Oh in that case I can fully agree. =3
I also prefer it if they keep the young characters young.
A lot of things tend to be destroyed in the process and it wouldn't even be the same character anymore like you said. <:3

Age progression doesn't bother me at all, but artists can do as they please, so no stopping them.
