*is pro marijuana legalization*

I am for the legalization of marijuana in the U.S.  No I don't smoke it, but I do know that it is a lot better for you than the tobacco products the tobacco companies sell.  In a single day in the U.S., 1,215 people die from smoking cigarettes.  That's 443,600 people in this country a year!  Take that to a worldwide view, and you will see that 5.4 million people die from the use of cigarettes!  Reason- because the tobacco that is produced by the tobacco companies and shipped worldwide are filled with all kinds of toxic chemicals like arsenic, cadmium, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, formaldehyde, benzene; and of course nicotine.  All of this shit is ADDED to tobacco during its growth and when its being manufactured into tobacco products!  Marijuana however doesn't have these since most growers produce it organically and never introduce them to toxins.  Think about THAT the next time you get out a Marlboro and light up.

Also, marijuana has many healing properties and has been used to help treat lots of ailments like ADD/ADHD, arthritis, migraines, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis; and glaucoma for thousands of years.  Sure our pharmaceutical companies make pills for that, but those come with all kinds of side effects that are worse than what you are trying to treat!  Sure I could take Zoloft to help with depression, but then again I don't want to be waylaid with side effects like insomnia, ejaculation problems, suicidal thoughts or behavior; or glaucoma.  Side effects of marijuana- excessive happiness and increased appetite.  Between the two, I would go with bud.

Every year, the US spends 7.7 BILLION DOLLARS on the continued prohibition of marijuana; and millions more on building and maintaining prisons.  In fact, more people are put in jail/prison for the sell and/or possession of marijuana in the US than murderers, rapists, serial killers; and robbers combined!  And if you ever been busted for the possession of pot, then don't expect the government help you get a grant for college; but that cellmate of yours that raped four women and robbed six stores will get help from good ole Uncle Sam.

Hemp, the cousin of marijuana, is a plant with a wide amount of uses.  The seeds are loaded with antioxidants, the fibrous pulp can be used to make clothing and paper, produces loads of oxygen; and can be made into cheap and abundant bio-diesel fuel.  However, it can't be grown in the US.  Why?  Because it, along with marijuana, is ILLEGAL here!
