I was at the BAM looking over manga and I noticed that there was a lot more shoujo (girl's) manga than any other genre. It didn't really surprise me because girls have always seemed to have bought more manga that boys, but then I asked myself how do teenage girls get so much more money than boys of the same age?
First I said that boys have a different mindset about how to spend their money, but when I thought about how girls are give so much money to buy clothes, shoes, and accessories for the sake of fashion, I started to feel bitter, because boys of the same age in the same family are rarely given anything. Obviously, I'm talking about my own life experiences, but I've been around other families who display the same behavior even ones who were met by chance.
I guess, I'm just asking for some thoughts on the matter for whoever feels like commenting.
