Today, around 5:00PM EST, I will be streaming the first official IZACAR event. Since it's so late in the year, however, it will have to be a short season for 2013. I will still be doing all of the races in the order I listed in the previous journal, I just won't be able to do every track this year. Next year, though, will be a full season with every event.
Since this is the start of an official season, I will also begin keeping track of points earned. Points are awarded based on finishing position, including DNFs. Bonus points are awarded for drivers who lead at least one lap. I will also analyze any accidents to determine if an injury would be suffered which would cause a driver to miss one or more events in order to "recover". In general, however, most accidents will NOT result in serious injury, as real-world NASCAR safety guidelines and devices would protect drivers from all but the most extreme forces.
Qualifying for tracks where the maximum number of drivers exceeds the number of available drivers will be very simple; just a single qualifying event prior to the race. However, if the number of available drivers is higher than the number of drivers a track can handle, the qualifying will be multi-staged. Drivers would be split into qualifying groups, and one qualifying round per group would be run. All of the times would then be analyzed, and the fastest times within the track's driver limit would then be put together into a new group. The new group would then get one qualifying round to determine the starting positions for the race.
Also, please be aware that the simulator I'm using is ten-and-a-half years old at this point, so there is a possibility for glitches or rogue AI.
