Yeah *coughs* I don't talk about it in the open (re: real life) because I'm not "out" about being bisexual or poly, especially not in fucking bigot central aka mid-Florida. I'm not prepared to have that conversation with my mom yet, anyway. Her head would explode just if I told her that I had two serious girlfriends before. She knows about Elle, but that's it. I'll jump that hurdle when it becomes clear that the triad is stable for the long-term.
But, basically, it's only considered cheating if you lie to one or more partners. The terms aren't absolute, but I tend to practice polyfidelity myself. My love life is complicated enough as it is... I've only had maybe 3 lovers my whole life and the same goes for them as well. A lot of people confuse it with promiscuity... and it's not. I tend to be monogamous, my current triad only happened because Elle told me he had a boyfriend and I still had feelings for him. I was completely prepared to bite my feelings back and move on, but I ended up falling for Sean and things went from there.

Don't worry. Some people like to pretend they are at an all-you-can-eat buffet... but I think that taking the time to be serious about a relationship and maintain it is far more important than sampling a bunch of different people. It's good to find out what kind of person is compatible with you—it helps you in the future. But I think it's equally important to know how to work through differences because no matter who you love, even if it's family and your best friend, those tactics will still be important.
