11. The reason you joined FA?
 To fight censorship!

o.O FA loves to cry about certain things and censor them. im confused lol
5 years, 11 months ago
Don't be. That was my sense of irony at work. That answer was strictly tongue in cheek. You'll note how my posts to FA begin and end.
5 years, 11 months ago
i knew that had to be a joke. FA is just really bad lately
5 years, 11 months ago
Even I've received a suspension on FA. Sweet, loveable ME!
5 years, 11 months ago
Ha, FA is a clusterfuck. I was invited once, and hearing all the shit from other people, I declined to join. I'm glad I did.

Besides, no Sonic art means just about the only 'furry' art I draw would be nonexistent. Retards.
5 years, 11 months ago
Well, FA has to be reckoned with on a few levels. It is, at least for now the biggest Furry site, so if you want to reach furries, you probably ought to be there. Second, they have a nice little convention here in my area, and it would be a shame to pass up a nice con in my neighborhood, especially as it continues to improve. Finally, ALL the sites have their issues. I happen to like SoFurry, as they have shown the most support for the furry writer's community, and as a result, most furry writers hang out there. Also, SoFurry is the most uncensored furry website period. And it seems to have the least juvenile behavior on it. Still, I have the largest fanbase right here on IB. I'm not thrilled that I have to censor 'Tina' here, but at least admins helped work out a way to have it here at all. Nor am I enamored of IB's rep as a place mainly for cub lovers. But, I'll leave that debate for others.
Bottom line? There's no ideal furry 'home' out there. I'll continue to live my furry life on SoFurry, but I'll still continue to spend significant time here and yes, on FA as well.
5 years, 11 months ago
I've got a SoFurry too, so the good thing is I'm not just on IB. Commish info is easy to place on Weasyl, and blocking's much easier to do, so there's that....

Not so good is who invited me there. But luckily I don't see anything from him. :) Still, as juvenile behavior goes, and as restrictive as FA is, I'm not sure I'd join for an active account. Or at least, not for a long while.
5 years, 11 months ago
Well, it's not like it costs anything. I still have a significant....and increasing....following there. The problem is the lack of time that your work is up as 'new art'. So, 'Tina' has had a much slower time developing a following there. FA is what it is.
5 years, 11 months ago
Hmm. Maybe I could.... I'll consider it.
5 years, 11 months ago
I don't really see a down side. You take it for what it is- another major forum for your work. Accept the limits and work with them. It's not where I hang out, but I don't want to ignore an audience of that size.
The way you feel about FA is the way I see DeviantArt. I just felt the static/content ratio was way off kilter. But, maybe I SHOULD be there; it's another platform.

Well, if you decide to try out dA, let me know. I might be able to help ya out.
5 years, 11 months ago
Thanks. I have an account there; it would be a fair amount of work to bring 'Tina' over.

What's a "blurberry"?
5 years, 11 months ago
It's a 'blueberry' ravaged by bad typing............
5 years, 11 months ago
That sux, cuz now I've got a hankerin' for some blurberrys and it turns out they don't exist.

#18 I've never understood how the band that made "Pet Sounds" could do something like "Kokomo". It trips me out. "Pet Sounds" is one of those perfect albums I can play through and never want to touch the needle, and yet much of the rest of their catalog make my teeth hurt.
#28 Right? All the numbers I've seen in the various surveys suggest that heterosexuals make up a majority of the fandom, but sometimes we seem invisible. This is no sort of complaint, but it would be nice to think that there are single women my age in the fandom.
#37 Preference on the vodka?

#49 Congratulations. I had switched to electronic cigs about four years ago, but I fractured two vertebrae and was housebound for a month. My resolve did not survive. I do roll-your-own now, which has lead to a marked reduction, but still isn't good enough. I just haven't had my moment of clarity yet.
5 years, 11 months ago
I agree; I love everything they've done, but I never understood 'Sloop John B' and Kokomo, yet they're part of the set. Maybe attributable to the drug years?
I'm heterosexual; yet at every Con, I feel like a distinct minority. I'm going to FurFright with a Gay friend. Then maybe I'll fit in.
Belvedere. Tito's isn't bad either. The Goose and Stoli are alright; when times are tough, Smirnoff will do.....
I smoked on and off, mostly 'on' from 1967 to 1991. My wife quit when she got a bad bout with bronchitis; I quit shortly thereafter. September 20, 1991. The next Spring, my mother in law was diagnosed with lung cancer. If I EVER considered going back, that took care of it.....
