I want your guys oppinion

by
Hi there,

For quite some time I have been noticing that when I do a flat-color smut, it receive a CRAZY feedback, sometimes way more than my full-rendered digital paintng works....  and I am greatly thankful, but I still get confused with this...   like, more realistic and 3d the better right?  like...  you feel the action with depth and it is more detailed... more lifelike...

Some time ago I received a very good critique on some pencil sketches I made, and te dude said: "in pencil, there is more detail, the "fur" is better ..."   I was thinking that those 2 things are somewhat related...  maybe working outside my shading and lightwork "comfort-zone" subconciously make me do a better job showing all the little details that would normally be part of the shading, inside the lineart....

But I want the oppinion of those ho made me think about it in the first place...

So please, give me a paw to unveil this question :B

for me, more realistic and 3d should either look like its an actuall picture or its not my cup of tea. I like simple, i like anime, i like the best lvl of an artists specific style. but realistic for me doesnt do it unless it looks like actual pictures

Hmm, I see....

I am well aware that I am very very far to photo-like xD, after all I am not any

so should I stick more with my cartoon-y style than my "pseudo-realism"?

If that is the case I'm good, but I will not stop doing and posting my "realistic-wannabe" stuff because, after all, you only get better in something if you train it :B

not saying your art isnt good. Just not my thing.

Honnestly hope you didnt get offended by me.

Please do always practice and share your improvements and all your art you like.

Never dislike your art either.

I'm not quite sure what your question here actually is...
I think people respond more to subject matter (e.g. porn), than to a more detailed art technique.
So a simple porn line drawing will get more attention than a beautifully drawn, detailed, and shaded landscape.

yeah, I know that, but when I say "my full-rendered digital paintng works" I am referring to my detailed smut works, that get less attention than my simpler smut works...

Maybe it is a matter of "easier-on-the-eye"? Like, it requires less thinking/ processing and more seeing/enjoying perhaps...

it really depend of the comission
if i buy pic related to cartoon , i dont want awesome color and big 3D etc , i want it to look close to the related cartoon.
and sometime a sketche/ink picture is better cause the line show detail that disipear when its colored .

I could notice it xD

hmm, I see... never thought about that but you are right...  I already lost many cool lineart-details because of the shadework or the colorwork...
