Pacific Rim and Animal Crossing

Okay, I saw Pacific Rim earlier today and I had an lot of expectations going into it and yet I was still blown away. The visuals are absolutely stunning and I love almost everything about the Kaiju and Jaegers. It's so refreshing to see movies like this and Cloverfield, to bring back the large scale creatures like from the old Godzilla movies. I haven't looked but I'd love an visual companion book like Cabin in the Woods got because I'd highly like to get an more in depth look at each and every Kaiju and Jaeger that was in the movie.

In fact, the only thing I could try find fault with the movie is that it felt an little short to me. I know, around 2:10 seems to be an little long for some movies now a days, but I wanted it to be at least 2:30 if not longer to get an more in depth feel for why some decisions were made and get an better feel for the character interactions.

But overall, this is definitely at the top of my list for movies this year, along with Star Trek Into Darkness and Now You See Me. I cannot wait to get my hands on the blu ray version later on to see the behinds the scene footage. I definitely plan on seeing it again later on.

Also, for those of you who have Animal Crossing New Leaf, my dream suite code is 5900-2204-5556 if you want to visit my town.

I soooo wanna see this movie

I wonder if its popular do you think we might see some Kaiju or Jeager merch
and even with out seeing it I've been running thought on how I would use this concept in a video game

I really hope we see some merch. In fact, I hope there is dome sort of bundle with the blu  ray release. Like with Walking Dead Season 2, I got the zombie head with screwdriver in the eye, and for Star Trek Into Darkness, I got the bundle that comes with an phaser. Unfortunately, I have no faith in movie video games, after all, you'd think there would be no way to screw up an Wreck It Ralph video game. However, I'd love something like Ultraman or King of the Monsters again.

The way I would do a game would be sort of an expansion of the universe.

Like I said I haven't seen the movie yet so I don't know if it's one rift that spawns monsters or if there are more.  First I'd introduce smaller class monsters like clovers ticks.  And smaller combat robots.  The game would run as a mix of fighter and Xcom enemy unknown.  You'd build and maintain your jagers reaserching upgrades, new weapons and tactics.   When a kaiju attacks it would be handled as a fighting game,  and after the battle you'd have to repair the jager and send a clean up crew out to the battle Site looking for any kaiju hangers on the Buick sized fleas and parasites can't let those nasties get a foot hold,  and that part would be done as a turn based strategy game like Xcom but with your troops in smaller combat rigs like the avatar mech suits or the matrix's apu.

Like I said I haven't seen the movie but that's how I'd do a game using a similar concept.

And I agree for the most part movie games sucked associated and not in the fun way
