The Future of My Cub Art

by
A handful of people are either complaining or rejoicing in this notion that I don't draw cub art anymore.

Here are the facts.

- I draw cub art no more and no less than I ever have to begin with. If you know me at all, you realize that my gallery has never been "cub" focused.

- Don't believe me? Lets do some math. I have 194+ drawings on this account. 9 of those pictures have cubs in them. That's around 4.5%

- If you watch me because you only like 4.5% of the pictures in my gallery, allow me to bop you on the nose. I only watch artists if I like their style and level of quality which is usually consistent throughout their gallery, not because they draw dragons or because they drew my favorite kinky situation once. It's almost like people are watching these artists for all the wrong reasons - when things don't go their way, they take a gun, point it at the artist's head and say "draw what I like or else." But I guess that's a rant for another time and most likely another place.

- I have nothing against cub art or the people who identify with it. In fact, I actually enjoy some of it hence its existence in my gallery and my favorites. So anyone going around saying "ooohh Tukè is a cub hater go flame him!" is flat out wrong. On the contrary, anyone going around saying "Tukè is a cub lover! Go flame him!" would be equally as wrong. I'm not that hard to figure out - why? Because I'm grey, not black or white.

- What's the future of my cub art? It has its place in my gallery, yes. Nothing has changed. In the future, I will certainly add warning labels to the icons of these drawing for those watchers who prefer not to see them because, as what comes with a variety of art and a variety of watchers with different tastes, I need to try and be sensitive to everyone regardless of whether or not they are respectful to me.

Alright that's everything.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.

*Nods nods* Very wise words. I wish there were more people in the fandom that share these views.

Well, I watch you because of your style and if the subject is cub or not that's a secondary matter. As artist you have to draw what you have to draw, period.

Well said! Thanks :)

Personally I am not a fan of cub/adult porn art (too close to pedophilia and being a victim of it, I just don't like it. So I block it). Youth on youth is okay. Baby anything is blocked. I just wish artist were a little better at labeling their art. It's amazing how many different tags I've had to block just to keep the adult/cub stuff out. Oh well. I like you art because it is beautiful. :)

I totally understand what you mean. That's why I figure I could take the extra step and just edit the image icon for that added filter.

Some don't even do that.

I followed you from FA, think I'm still watching you there if you're still posting. I've enjoyed your artwork for what it is, from the playful postures and actions of friendly foxes, to the dangerous and viscous scenes with blood. Not to mention, to me, you have such a cute style to all your artworks. If people complain about too little or too much cub artwork, they should probably consider leaving Ink Bunny.

Concerning why a large group of users watch artists on InkBunny, it's because the artists have fetish pornography in their gallery that the user group can enjoy. There are a few artists here whose art honestly needs intense work, but they are still terrifyingly popular because of all the fetish art they create.

I see what you mean. Perhaps its wrong of me to think that IB is an art oriented site verses a subject oriented one.

Inkbunny is a young site made popular by the cub fallout of FurAffinity. Furries inherently choose subject over artistic matter because it is the basis of the furry fandom. So when the 'refugees' came to IB, they came here for the things that FurAffinity could no longer provide.
And so, a trap has been made for the Inkbunny artist: if an artist creates fetish, some members of that fetish pool will flock, expecting more of the subject. Popularity, therefore, is not based solely on artistic skill.
Another one of Inkbunny's problems is its "Popular" section. The section is filled every day with the same 15 artists, and usually cub. The section further promotes a sense of content>ability because of its closeness to the search tab, the notifications slots, and the user control bar. The user can take a quick scan over the popular images of today, and then move on to what they required.
I know that I am especially guilty of this.

Artists will draw what they draw- if a watcher realizes that the artist isn't putting out work that the watcher likes, then it was the watcher that was in error for watching in the first place.  Likewise, if the artist's tastes or style changes over time, the watcher has no right to demand that they revert; with some possible exceptions with commissioned work, and even that is iffy.
I guess my point is, if you don't like the artwork that an artist is doing, don't watch them.

As a side note, I watch will watch artists strictly because of the subject matter occasionally.  Likewise, I'll watch artists strictly for the quality of their work or the appeal of their style.  If they put out a piece I don't particularly like, I don't look at it.  If they start regularly putting out content I don't like (although this hasn't happened yet), I'll unwatch them.  It's rather simple, I should think.

Which is a very mature way to go about things. Thank you so much for your input <3

There are plenty of cub artists on IB, its always most important for you to draw what you love to draw. There's a term for people who flame on others for not drawing what THEY like, it's called trolls. And we all know, that every time you troll, is one more time a dragoness is going to say no to your penis. =P

I actually dig the way artists do their work,i mean...I guess I would say the adult stuff is a plus but I just like the details and the colors,i would say my favorite thing about furry art is comparing the art to other artists and finding a fascination about how everyones are is different, sounds kinda silly I suppose, but I suppose I should say I like the quality of peoples drawings

Doesn't sound silly at all. In fact it's a very healthy way to go about things. In the end, it's not just a fandom we're apart of, but an art industry as well.

your art is attractive to me and while I prefer the cub related works, it's not at the exclusion of the rest of your work, which I find myself enjoying a lot. ^^

Carry on X3 nothing changes.

I just like your artwork.  It's so well drawn and you take the time to really bring out the emotion in your characters.  That and I like the conversations you draw.  Glad you're staying around.  Looking forward to more.  ^^

Stick to your guns man, that's the best I can say aside from encouraging you to continue to do so.

I've watched artists before for the wrong reason... but that was my fault. I assumed and got the wrong end of the stick about what they create and may create. In that case I'll unwatch them, but sometimes wish I could put a little comment on as to why.

A watcher/viewer has absolutely no right to attack or throw abuse at an artist, writer, etc, based what they choose to draw. If they throw a hissy fit because your tastes or wishes have changed... Then well. They should get over it. Or create their own. Or just sit on a stick and swivel.

The way you handle things using your journals is spectacularly rational and cool :P Also, i watch you for many crazy reasons, the main one being your marvelous art xP I may not be that active or reply much, but i am watching from the shadows... (like a true ninja :O *throws smoke bomb*) MWHAHHAHAHAHA

I'm not so great with discussions, however,as far as I can see and tell, you're a person I can chat, joke and work with, and I really enjoy looking at your artworks and watching you when you are online, streaming as you draw and shade them, when I get the chance. :)

Even though I am, like many, biased towards the things I like, everything you draw -- I still check it out at the very least, and whenever something comes to mind I leave you a comment if not a few favorites.

Last but not least, I enjoy your humoristic pictures a whole lot, too! And all the clean work.

This is the best worded explanation of the situation I think I've ever read. Very well stated, and thank you for not backing down to the flamers on either side. Far too many artists take the popularity route & take one side or the other. Respect +100.

Honestly. Inkbunny is not just a cub website.
We should stop treating it as one.

never understood that part in the furry fandom anyway. i mean the: thou shalt not practise pedofelia in our depraved realm of bestiality and sick animal torture that is legally punishable by death in a dozen world countries part. it all just seems so hypocrite to me, it's not like us furries will be considered less twisted to the outside world without it >.>

but then again if people start whining your time away then it's best to leave things for what it is and find better things to do.

consider it case closed.

Why should you have to A) justify your means and B) put a lable on anything when all you have to do is block the keyword CUB?

The fact is, people will always be with hate and rage because they get there jollies off of it, like an addiction. You stop them by ignoiring them.
